  1. Wait does David put butter and syrup on his pizza?
  2. Man, f that, we're building a dongeriffic lineup, I wanna maximize their time in the game. In fact let's petition for two DHs.
  3. Not just Schwarber. Think of all the crusty old managers trotting out in that horsefeathers. Also Bartolo Colon.
  4. Well let me tell you something, my kraut-mick friend, I'm gonna make so much french toast this weekend, you won t know what hit you! Is that an invitation to come by for brunch? I'll bring the bloody mary supplies.
  5. Yea German Pancakes are pretty horsefeathering great. It's a staple of almost any family holiday brunch.
  6. Might as well have a non-Bears thread. Hue Jackson is your next Cleveland Browns head coach.
  7. Well my season was already off to a rocky start and now looks like Charles is done. It's a keeper league though so I can start my sell off. Have already been offered Mariotia (Keeper values of $2, $3 the next two years) for Alshon Jeffery (not keeper eligible). This is a good trade I should jump at right?
  8. $200 auction budget. Standard scoring except 6 pts on passing TD. Up to three keepers. QB Drew Bree's $46.00 RB Jamaal Charles $66.00 RB Joique Bell $13.00 WR DeSean Jackson $21.00 WR Antonio Brown $15.00 WR Alshon Jeffery $8.00 RB Pierre Thomas $4.00 QB Matt Ryan Atl $4.00 RB Andre Ellington $21.00
  9. Full statement http://www.redeyechicago.com/sports/chi-bears-phil-emery-aaron-kromer-20141215,0,1668390.story While he does make clear it was Trestman's decision, he doesn't go anywhere near showing disagreement, just dissatisfaction with the situation as a whole. So I don't think Trestman is going anywhere yet.
  10. Wishful thinking or confusion? http://www.chicagofootball.com/2014/12/15/chicago-bears-general-manager-phil-emery-breaks-silence-on-aaron-kromer-comments/az3wmc2/ This article uses "respect" a lot. Talks about the system and doesn't mention disagreement (which IMO would be silly to say unless you were saying it to announce his termination).
  11. Haha brilliant. [expletive] Colts going from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck. Well timed dump. Reminiscent of the 98 Spurs.
  12. Well as long as you're consistent. For me I'd say "Yeah, Black Unicorn trying to deflect attention from himself for the Bears [expletive] season." As opposed to Cutler who will say we or I no matter if it was his fault or not.
  13. So adjust for volume and he's still what a 60 catch 650 yard TE? That's still pretty good even after drops and mental lapses.
  14. I'm calling shenanigans on football stats because you can say the same thing about Cutler. He's also having a great statistical season among his peers (unlike Cutler who is middle of the pack). Obviously volume isn't everything and I have no problem criticizing his quote, but shitty season is not somewhere I'd go.
  15. Everyone needs to shut up Yeah, Black Unicorn trying to deflect attention from his own [expletive] season. Am I missing something? I know he has some maddening things he does but he's had a pretty kick ass season statistically speaking. Uh, yeah you've missed the entire season if you think his has been kickass. Oh come on, number one in receptions and three in yards is hardly a shitty season even accounting for his other downsides like blocking. Even you want to make adjustments to the volume due to play calling / situational adjustments the guy is having his best season as a pro.
  16. Everyone needs to shut up Yeah, Black Unicorn trying to deflect attention from his own [expletive] season. Am I missing something? I know he has some maddening things he does but he's had a pretty kick ass season statistically speaking. His route running has been bad and his blocking has been horrific. He's done well stat-wise though. Blocking/holds is one of the thing that stuck in my mind, but even still the production is pretty hard to question unless you think its just like 30% due to our awful vertical game giving him lots of dump offs.
  17. Everyone needs to shut up Yeah, Black Unicorn trying to deflect attention from his own [expletive] season. Am I missing something? I know he has some maddening things he does but he's had a pretty kick ass season statistically speaking.
  18. Did you do it to every pitcher? I'd present your "full" pitcher war then do the 20%(or whatever) to the side to really underline the point of both pitcher injury and the unpredictable nature of it of it.
  19. A boy named Suh Just not sure he's worth the marginal upgrade over our current DTs vs the marginal upgrade of a few new DBs, LBs, or even edge rusher
  20. Grudges probably thinks cutler should do all the press conferences. Emery made it clear he wasnt happy with how trestman handled kromer situation. He may be gone tomorrow. I agree. He made it a point to say that Trestman was responsible for dealing with the Kromer thing, which was largely mocked by the media. Beginning stages of throwing Trestman under the bus. I don't think he's gone tomorrow but I think it's increasingly likely he's gone after the season. I missed this - when did Emery say thus or where did anonymous sources say so?
  21. Grudges probably thinks cutler should do all the press conferences. Emery made it clear he wasnt happy with how trestman handled kromer situation. He may be gone tomorrow. I mean I really want there to be more to the story of Trestman not doing PC so let's hope so.
  22. Find another Lamarr Houston or Jared Allen Lamarr Houston helped our run D while he was here. Allen was always risky, just gotta hope for a fluky late career resurgence and then be smart enough to run away in 16. But yes as stated there really aren't Cutler savings. Overall we should have about 18.75 after rookie pool if the cap didn't rise, so any extra gain is gravy. Also really no cap savings to speak of that'd make sense by cuts, so that numbers pretty firm.
  23. Yeah, I think 4 WAR is probably a bit optimistic. I'd be worried about health, but I could toss that disclaimer at all pitchers (and, yes, I saw the link above - but I'm done trying to figure out pitcher health...it's more of a crapshoot than anything). His performance wasn't a fluke, even if the actual result in terms of runs allowed was a little better than expectation. Probably best to just make your best estimate at pitcher war and take off 20% (or some more scientific figure) off the board due to health.
  24. Haha I actually was getting a little bored with this exercise and thought about retaining Tucker just for giggles due to the connection . Somehow Tuckers D's there were ranked 9, 7, and 11 in pass defense (the last being when he called plays).
  25. Haha brilliant. [expletive] Colts going from Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck.
