  1. I mean I really don't want to be picky about where we upgrade our talent since we need it everywhere, but I want a S and a DL (or two) before more decent money to a ILB. Relax, we're getting Hicks today. How much is Freeman gonna cost? That 46M isn't going to go as far as we probably want. Now, there's still some opportunity to drop more dead weight and free up cap, but I'd really like some more DB help too, which won't be cheap.
  2. yyuuuuppppp....massive upgrade. I mean I really don't want to be picky about where we upgrade our talent since we need it everywhere, but I want a S and a DL (or two) before more decent money to a ILB.
  3. Let me know if I messed any up. Other than Tom who chose a team without a first rounder, I didn't double up yet, but we can by the end of the month of there are still slots open.
  4. Sherrick McManus back on two year deal. Porter contract looks similar in structure to Massie. One year with two "option" years. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/tracy-porter/ Zach Miller looking imminent. I'm gonna guess a cost and structure very much like Porter.
  5. Wait winos don't only drink wine?
  6. In quest to find a worse backup than Claussen, the Bears have interest in Scott Tolzien. Also, the Massie contract, though I thought was high on AAV, at least looks like a prove it deal. Basically this year is guaranteed, with two "option" years where it is very easy to get out of. No firm details on Porter yet. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/bobby-massie/
  7. No one on Bears yet. I'd be up for just calling that one a consensus one and we'll do a poll for it, since that will have the most interest here.
  8. Doh, nevermind, read that wrong. Numbers coming in for Travathan are lower than initially reported. Sounds like a definite Fox discount. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/chicago-bears/danny-trevathan/
  9. it's 2/12M, isnt it? Not sure. Just saw 12 per. Still a lot.
  10. Possible Bears target Jaye Howard back to Chiefs, at 12M per year. DLineman are going for a lot of dough. If we do ideed get Akiem Hicks, I'm not expecting it to be cheap.
  11. Here is the First Round list. We can use this as a sign up and I'll create a new topic for the actual mock draft. First come first serve. If there are multiple requests on a team, the first person can set up a "draft board" if they want, but will get final say. I won't update this a lot, so just pay attention. I'll take the Ravens. 12. So we had 46M walking into today with another 5M likely coming once we get rid of Bennett. Just on a per year basis looks like we committed just short of 20M annually. Even with the draft pool, still have a lot of money. I'd imagine we'll be front loading these cap hits a bit though. I'd expect a DB and S in the 5-9m + range and a couple million on a swing interior lineman (whether it's bringing back Montgomery or someone else). Several near minimum vet signings to fill out roster holes, and then go into the draft still wanting a high pick at DL. Big question is if TE is a hole going into the draft. It will take easily the 5M we save on Bennett for even an average replacement. Eta - looks like our draft pool is a hair over 8M. So assuming straight cap hits on the signings today, about ~18M to spend. (23M without Bennett). Of course they won't go right up to the cap and there is a lot of flexibility in how to structure cap hits.
  13. Ok sounds like definitely back to RG for Long, so that's good. Then there's this [tweet] [/tweet]
  14. pretty sure meh is an improvement, especially with Long going back to guard With Bennet likely gone and a weak TE class in draft and FA I'm thinking we may see a lot more TE staying in to block.
  15. He sounds a little meh, but I'm alright with it.
  16. Some reports say this means Long back to G. Others, Long to LT.
  17. [tweet] [/tweet]
  18. [tweet] [/tweet]So I'm guessing all top 3 QBs go in top 10 now.
  19. ok its 3:02...now we can panic?? Yep
  20. 4/72 sure sounds like a pretty big uh oh.
  21. Lol twitter freaking out about the Bears apparently awful free agency. I mean we can wait at least another 15 minutes when it officially opens up right?
  22. It was dew... If he's not around I would consider running it, if there is a desire. I feel like interest has gradually waned though.
  23. Call the patent office. I want a quarter every time someone says it! I don't think your patent is gonna be approved.
  24. I thought it could have been worse than that. Pending the structure, that seems fine.
  25. Hicks, a DB, and a OL would be a nice start to FA.
