  1. roosevelt brown? seriously, hoffpauir's not the answer to anything. but there may be some complacency from fukudome. am i sensing complacency? yes, i think i am. Hoffpauir has been hitting the cover off the baseball all season long. He also did well in his short time in the Majors. Something needs to change. Fukudome has an OPS of .631 the 2nd half of the season and has been awful since May. yeah, because this season is quickly spiraling out of control. Well, granted, everything is obviously going well, overall. We'd still be better off without a black hole in the lineup, especially in a corner OF position that should be so easy to fill with ~.800 OPS production. I don't think Hoffpauir is the answer to anything, either, though. Not sure what we can do at this point outside of giving Kosuke a few days off. You would think that with his ability to work counts, he'd be less prone to long slumps, but he is adjusting to a new and more difficult league.
  2. hahaha i just saw last night's game thread pure comedy... loved abuck's "toilet of the internet" comment...
  3. Have you been taking PHD's lately? It's like IMB on steroids. #-o
  4. He posted yesterday that he didn't see the Reds winning a game this series. Wonder how he feels about Dusty these days.
  5. 4 years and 55-60 million for Dempster past his prime would be one of the most indescribably stupid things the Cubs have ever done, and that's saying something. exaggerate much? That's not an exaggeration. You're talking about giving up to $15M per for 4 years to a 31 year old pitcher who is coming off a surprisingly good year out of nowhere.
  6. Because they would look better without them.
  7. Can you imagine how many managers would kill to have a hitter like Soto batting 8th in their lineup? Now thats called depth. It's not depth when your 8th hitter should be hitting 6th. It just means you have a hitter lower in the order than he should be.
  8. It was Redsox here, Cubs played in New York. n00b
  9. Cubs/Yankees at Wrigley was effing epic, though.
  10. Surprising without the fallback of the extra playoff spot, but I guess it makes sense given how late in the season we had that lead... but still not near as high as 99% with a month and a half to go.
  11. The Astros are incapable of hitting the ball out of the infield.
  12. Considering we had no shot at the division and only held the lead in the wild card, probably not all that high.
  13. i hate it when there's no ground to be gained
  14. hunter pence is an effing moron
