  1. i don't get as excited for spring training broadcasts as much as i used to but for some reason i find these espn ones fun maybe it's the fact that they're night games and i have a game to come home to after work
  2. First one reads the same as the second one to me
  3. i mean it's an amazing song so
  4. i believe the white horse still exists also
  5. But would anyone sign him? By then there's a good chance both leagues will have the DH. That would open more possibilities. Maybe Seattle would bring him back ala the Cubs bringing back Maddux to win his 300th game. You seem a lot more optimistic than me on the NL dh.
  6. sooo i just stumbled onto this picture http://mit.zenfs.com/121/2011/05/sosa5252.jpg
  7. http://sportsworld.nbcsports.com/chicago-cubs-maddon-epstein-curse/ I enjoyed this Cubs fluff piece

  9. That ending makes a lot more sense though. If she was really trying to lose why not trade Vaughn, Dorn etal. for prospects that would be ready in a couple years after they had moved the team? Plus, once they started winning enough games to get into contention that would have already voided the clause about moving the team for falling below X attendance level. I believe the clause required something like a [expletive] ton of sellouts down the stretch. Huh? It was an escape clause in the event of absurdly poor attendance, wasn't it?
  10. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=28725 Speaking of goofy BP content, Watt looks at the roster and the #1 song at the time each was born. I feel old. Except for the Rizzo/Heyward one. I'm not sure I've ever heard that song. Soler's is very fitting.
  11. Yup. IIRC all parties involved decided it wouldn't work at all if they went that direction and changed it to her continuing to be a villain. Because Vaughn was supposed to suck and Dorn was just high priced. Nobody was going to give up good things for them just because they were starting to have decent seasons. Teams in real life that are trying to tank don't do that stuff that you're saying.
  12. Rizzo's HR from yesterday: http://m.mlb.com/video/v561298583/chccin-rizzo-connects-for-a-tworun-homer/?query=cubs
  13. Here they are in non-annoying Forbes slideshow form http://deslide.clusterfake.net/?o=html_table&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.forbes.com%2Fpictures%2Fmlm45gdfgj%2Fbaseballs-most-valuable%2F Here's the original link http://www.forbes.com/pictures/mlm45gdfgj/baseballs-most-valuable/
  14. i was one of the weirdos who managed to see the dress both ways depending on when i scrolled to it
  15. i thought this was interesting just because of the source [tweet] [/tweet] wasn't olbermann (not saying he was wrong) very outspoken about making fun of the cubs and their management/ownership as recently as last year?
  16. Possible? That's exactly what is happening. Am I the only one seeing that clearly? probable. still looks weird though.
  17. it's also possible it's just a goofy angle and his entire arm is on the inside of his leg while his glove rests on his knee and the picture just looks weird from that angle
  18. the glove looks real, the position on his knee in relation to his wrist looks screwy, like it was just lying there rather than his hand in it plus his fingers are visible on the inside of his leg
  19. jake looks a little goofy but i am so buying this did they shop that glove onto his leg?
  20. joe literally said this exact same thing last year, pretty much word for word, and the local media is running with it like it's joe being all wacky again.
  21. Jerks. Mine come tomorrow.
