  1. As a kid, I originally called myself a Sox fan, but that was before I had any real interest in sports. I just knew they were good. I'll admit the same. I watched the 93-95 Sox as much as I watched the Cubs and idolized Frank Thomas, who is still one of my favorite players despite the White Sox uniform. At the end of 1995 though the .500ish Cubs went on a winning streak toward the end of the season and were alive for the WC on the last weekend, I went to 2 of games of that final series vs. Houston and for some reason that pushed me over the edge for the Cubs. By 97, I was at the Cell for the first Cubs/Sox series rooting hard for the Cubs. I've told this story before...the extent of my Sox "fandom" was that I had a Sox hat in the early-mid 90s, but I didn't watch at all. Jordan's comeback in March of 95 is what got me really amped up for sports and then the Cubs decent 95 season that immediately followed, plus the Bears with the "big" offense with Conway and Graham and I was in (pretty funny since all those teams were pretty damn mediocre). Then as the 95-96 Bulls happened, I was officially all in on sports. I also always played as the Cowboys in tecmo bowl (which I played despite not giving a crap about sports) and called myself a fan prior to the Bears.

  3. I was more surprised that he hit 38 one year. Never thought he got that close, but I barely paid attention in 2006. I remember him more as a mid-high 20's guy, like he was in 07-08.
  4. seriously...starting an inning past the 100 mark? wtf?
  5. i cannot even describe how bummed i am at that lineout dp right now...what the horsefeathers
  6. heyward's luck when he actually does hit the ball hard is some kind of sick joke
  7. hamels was not pleased but it was just WTP
  8. had no idea that profar was actually fairly decent so far this year
  9. Didn't like the signing then, still don't like it now. it was a good value and upgraded the team. barring criminal behavior, i don't give a horsefeathers how much of an horsefeathers he is when you get surplus value and a clear upgrade.
  10. god i hate trying to read the tea leaves in someones walk up music meatballery i didn't say i didn't like it. friends in low places. #greatsong
  11. it's pretty funny that lackey uses garth brooks. like of course he does.
  12. Lackey has already almost exceeded the value of his salary this year. Mixed bag? Maybe if he throws BP for another 90 innings, I guess. Wait, I just noticed the "statistically has been our worst starter" part...what are you looking at? ERA?
  13. Yeah I'm sure he was disgusted at the play God there is nothing I hate more than this dumb ass body language meatballery. For [expletive]'s sake, he's obviously frustrated that he's getting tagged all over the place. Just accept him as the scumdog he clearly is. It doesn't matter who it is, this dumb ass jay cutler crap pisses me off.

  18. How is he the odd guy out? What am I missing? I mean, how much time will he get when he's back? Heyward and Fowler play everyday(even if Heyward maybe shouldn't for now). Contreras is going to get at least 1 of every days out there and likely 2 most turns thru the rotation. KB and Zobrist are getting time out there, so Javy gets his time at 2B and 3B. Hell, even Szczur is going to get a spot start here or there. This doesn't even account for the possibility we don't DFA Coghlan or try and work Almora into games...... I just don't see where he's going to get AB's. Add in Schwarber coming back next year and its cloudy for him then too. oh i thought you were saying soler isn't cost controlled or something. nm.
