  1. MLBTV is going for $9.99 today for the rest of the year. i have no idea but i wouldn't be at all surprised if indianapolis were blacked out anyway
  2. sams doesn't have my shave gel, deodorant (actually, i'm pretty sure they only have anti perspirant, which i hate) or mouthwash, but i get toothpaste and shower stuff there
  3. you gotta ease back into that my brother. I always horsefeathering overdo it. Never learn.
  4. i'm feeling super old right now physically but that's mainly because, for some reason, i decided it was a good idea to start going to the gym again this week and now i'm sore as horsefeathers.
  5. Wasn't that Javy? I thought I remembered giving Cards fans down here a bunch of crap because our backup SS hit a mammoth dong off their amazing greatest hero pitcher ever. Nope definitely Soler. Javy only had 1 HR in the postseason and we all remember it. If fact I'm pretty sure Addy started that game, but I'm not sure if he had injured himself by that point in the game or not. yup.
  6. i can sort of see it in pitch, just obviously not the manner of speaking the original kermit comparisons were probably better
  7. Gotta keep em short. 20 min or so tops. Beyond that...yeah...it can mess with you. That's probably it, then; if I nap it tends to be for 2+ hours. It's like if I fall asleep, my body wants to sleep for hours and anything less gets me all out of sorts. Napping before going out would just leave me even more tired. I feel a bit groggy maybe when i first wake up, but a shower and that first drink and i'm good.
  8. i'm in my early-mid 30's and still go out a lot, but i've been pro nap all my life. a nice nap after work/before going out is crucial.
  9. agreed... he's a little bit of an acquired taste, i think, though. at least, for me, when he first got hired, i hated his voice. he had to win me over with the things he said.
  10. the internet is every bit a cesspool with high levels of meatballery. Just go on twitter when Len posts something. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding your theory. I was going to ask if he's ever read a comments section of anything anywhere on the internet. internet commenters are like the bizarro internet. a byproduct of how much more of the world is on the internet now but doesn't really know what they're doing...the same people who get into political arguments on facebook comments and think they're winning a free ipod everyday and crap like that. these people are like a cross section of the least actually internet/computer savvy people on the internet, but i guarantee you the internet baseball fan crowd leans way more pro analytics than the gen pop. and awful announcing is a website that sets out to make fun of stupid people.
  11. combination of the first one + disdain for their analytics pushing is my guess I'd be willing to bet a large sum of money that the analytics stuff is the main reason. my only issue with that is that it would seem the internet savvy awful announcing crowd that would be in on those polls would lean heavily against that level of meatballery
  12. [tweet] [/tweet]
  13. [tweet]https://twitter.com/MinorLeagueBall/status/769245379770650624[/tweet]
  14. Gleyber since the trade (no idea how much whatever league he is in factors in to this) .224/.321/.347 in 112 PA
  15. if he had one, his senility would be much more noticeable i think
  16. guy could totally be a character actor
  17. What do you think it is? Meatball-rage over the Cubs not having some beloved ex-Cub in the booth? Bitterness over Len not being party of Harry's family of the damned? Inexplicable longing for dead soul-smarminess of Steve Stone? combination of the first one + disdain for their analytics pushing is my guess
  18. i'm not trying to be a dick but starlin's dad is skeeving me the horsefeathers out https://www.instagram.com/p/BJi5rMWDgqJ/
  19. I love when they play his clips on the B&B show to laud one rambling senile old man who tells too many pointless old timey stories about stuff nobody knows or cares about anymore when one of the main bits of the show is ripping Hawk (who, sure, is a worse announcer/person) for doing the same.
  20. the crazy thing is this is much closer to being true and accurate than hyperbole
  21. http://awfulannouncing.com/2016/the-2016-local-mlb-tv-announcer-rankings.html/4 not sure if this was posted...only a few days old. seems the dumbass meatball sector of our fan base kept len and JD from their rightful spot at the top of these rankings the gap between the white sox home and away broadcasts is both hilarious and appropriate
  22. [tweet] [/tweet] (at least it's only the 3rd inning)
  23. i remember your biggest thing was about how if tanking were going to be worth it, the cubs would have to be division dominating juggernauts the likes of which are rarely seen, winning 95+ games every year and always in the playoffs well lol
  24. This is looking fairly prescient, except for it being based on some crazy extraordinarily good defensive number and not just a good one.
