    Hammel has earned nothing and whether pulling him this time was uncalled for or not, his obvious griping every time he gets pulled is hilarious given how OK of a pitcher he is.

    The negative impact on your chances of scoring if giving away one of your three precious outs, especially at the hands of a guy getting on base at like a .390 clip, is MASSIVE. There's no good argument to be made that it was a good move.

    I don't want moves being made based on hot streaks, especially not ones that lower your chances of scoring as much as a good hitter voluntarily giving away one of your three is outs. It was stupid. Not every move that doesn't work is stupid. They thought Russell or Soler had a better shot of getting the runners in from 2nd and 3rd than Zobrist had of not making a productive out off Urias. Didn't work out, game's not over. Where did what I said even remotely look like I was talking in hindsight? It was stupid even if Addison had come up and hit a bloop single that scored two.

    Cubs are really only middle of the pack in K%, and Zobrist is a prime DP candidate. With Russell as hot as he's been, the move makes logical sense.     horsefeathers pitchers. We have a somewhat patched together staff putting up historically great run prevention numbers. We don't need to dump assets for some proven starter panacea guy. Between the FO and Bosio and whatever else is at play, we have consistently been able to do this for years now. And with our defense it only makes even more sense. And "object"
