That's showing you mean and not median. I've also thought that it's a little simplistic to look at on the whole since bunting falls into both categories(save for failed bunts). This. Depending on how you account for things like fielding errors and bunt hits and double plays, you can basically come up with anything from "very slight negative" to "very slight positive" for bunting. It's fine. if the upside is very slight positive, i'll stick with not wasting outs and letting dongers dong and not having boring ass stupid bunts

i don't care if bad hitters bunt. i hate hate hate giving away outs with good hitters. When one run is disproportionately important, it's not that simple. seems to me the odds of scoring one run don't increase that much with 1 out and a runner on 2nd vs 0 out and runner on first anyway, without even taking into account that you're talking about wasting a good hitter http://www.tangotiger.net/re24.html edit - sorry, massively hungover, but they actually don't increase at all

Maybe when they brought him up and he was the face of the future for the rebuilding Cubs, but then he was quickly eclipsed by many better young players It wasn't all that quickly. Not even Rizzo was called up until the middle of Castro's third year in the league. I just don't think he was ever much of a fan favorite. Polarizing, at least.

Jose Macias was like off-brand Neifi. funny thing is neifi was a worse hitter by a decent margin. which isn't surprising, i guess, because isn't neifi basically the worst hitter ever?

losing on mistakes brought on by what were dumb strategic decisions to begin with grinds the [expletive] out of my gears hated the bunt already and then rizz dumbs it up on the bases by being needelessly overly aggressive fowler should've been swinging away and then the league MVP was coming up I'm not particularly bothered by the bunt itself (though I generally dislike bunts), but far more so by Rizzo's tootblan. But I'm still more irritated by the wild pitch that allowed the Giants' third run to score. i was too impressed by JD's clairvoyance to be that upset... + i just assumed we'd get a few off their shitty bullpen after that
