  1. Stumbled onto this on Mets Refugees...thought I'd share http://www.metsrefugees.com/forum/showthread.php?t=104222 resident Brewers fan commenting on our prospects in late 2014 (i wasn't even there for schadenfreude...just wanted to see their thread on cespedes)
  2. not gonna lie, i'm a little worried about that too. Here's a new avatar for you: http://i.giphy.com/eJnXPUTnDE7V6.gif oh i'm not even remotely worried about the matchup. i am just terrified of getting this far and baseball doing stupid baseball things. i want it so damn bad now (most obvious statement ever).
  3. not gonna lie, i'm a little worried about that too. I won't pretend to be a pitching expert, but he should still be able to induce the same number of ground balls. Yeah, lifted balls might be trouble, but those will be trouble for Tomlin too. Hendricks probably won't pitch a shutout in those conditions, but should still be able to be better than the other guy. yeah i'm just terrified of some pop up becoming a basket shot in the inning that a couple of guys happen to get on with two outs on some stupid swinging bunt or something
  4. well according to rob neyer the only solution is to trade rizzo boy the battle for biggest career drop off among formerly great baseball writers is intense, but neyer is right up there. I read most of his stuff on espn multiple times in the 90s and never missed a chat. he was awesome. but man he is certifiably terrible now. Is it him getting worse or the fact that there's so much good content out there now?
  5. It's almost like the last week of October is a terrible time for baseball. But that's not even what would make late October bad for baseball. It's gonna be in the 60's and windy. BFD.
  6. All that wondering is called "The 2017 Victory Lap." Lets not get shortsighted here. 3PEAT! :clapping: While I firmly believe in the weighted crapshoot thing, and I am not a big clutch believer, I do think that when we finish this off, it is going to remove a lot of outside crap that could (but not necessarily would) hurt in the future...stuff like the drought narrative that may or may not add pressure, and the postseason experience and success (especially so early on in so many of these guys' careers) should take any choke factor out of the picture too. Let's break through and 90's Yankees the horsefeathers out of this (or at least aughts Red Sox).
  7. Same here. I would have liked Strop or CJ in to face Napoli and finish the 8th. I feel like this has been ridiculously exagerrated & id rather nobody get the ball to get out of a jam more than Chapman. same
  8. this was semi prescient and kind of funny since he nearly gave me a heart attack in the 1st too
  9. haha pat hughes apparently spells soler's name phonetically on his scorecards [tweet] [/tweet] that or he just doesn't know how to spell it
  10. I want this team forever. It's so fun and I want them always
  11. That AB has been pretty atypical this postseason. Tbh I've thought all along that next year his role should stay an expanded version of the same as this year with Joe picking and choosing his spots. I don't think he's there yet at the plate vs rhp, playoffs aside
  12. Not saying you read too much into two games but seeing his approach is just a reminder that he shouldn't just make zobrist a bench player next year
  13. I remember when the only reason Arrieta made me nervous was seeing how deep he'd take a no hitter Be that Jake again
  14. I actually think he made the primary changes on the middle of last season but the narrative was that it was offseason
  15. There's that easy oppo power from Bryant that looked like would be his trademark shot as he climbed the milb ladder and inexplicably vanished once he reached the Majors. It didn't inexplicably vanish. He had it last year. Then the league adjusted to him and he had to make swing changes to survive.
  16. Joe says Bauer is a reverse split guy. Can't look it up right now.
  17. Won't be a game 7 so only see him once more. which I also believe, but I don't understand why people think it's such a good thing that Francona would ride him like that if it does happen to go 7. he doesn't have to be as dominating as he was last night to still be really [expletive] good pitchers who are asked to start on short rest are almost always really horsefeathering good pitchers and they still tend to suffer noticeably.
  18. Kluber would be the only one to go twice on short rest Maybe he meant we'll be facing mediocre starters on short rest twice
  19. i seriously remember the first few times we heard bartman's name, i'd just keep thinking
  20. Wear them inside out? there might be something to this...I had actually put on my Bryant jersey backwards kris kross style when we rallied in the 9th vs the giants
  21. so the rizzo tshirt/bryant jersey combo that got me through games 4, 5, and 6 (as well as the bar that i went to for games 4 and 5) failed me last night. where do i go from here?
