    did you pre-order on amazon? i'm not sure if they're still running it but i did it a couple weeks ago and it was like $45 or something haven't gotten the game in 2-3 years but i figured i had to this year.

    With the Cubs now projecting at 95 wins again, in what isn't really an optimal playing time calculation (not to mention all of the free wins in our division), I think I might make a small bet on the over when I'm in Vegas next week. Westgate is at 95.5 so I'm guessing they'll all be around there. With Schwarber back and even a semi-competent Heyward (HEY DID YOU SEE HE WENT DEEP IN LIVE BP THE OTHER DAY?), this team would be the wrecking crew it was while Fowler was channeling Barry Bonds before his injury.

    the horsefeathers like that is why i laugh when people try to say maddon is poor at in game strategy/tactics (granted, who knows who is the true mastermind behind those types of plays), despite him clearly losing his mind with the bullpen in the playoffs (particularly late). if you go over to GRB, some of the responses to criticism of matheny is how they think maddon is mr teflon and is secretly one of the worst in game managers in the game.

    I think he's a good example of why counting stats are a bad way to measure HoF candidates WAR is a counting stat it's not counting vs. rate. it's some stats are bad, some are less bad, and some are actually good.

    Yeah, unless that USA Today article left out quotes I don't get how you see what he said as "anti-Trump." He just basically acknowledged that it affected his personal travel plans and that was unfortunate, essentially.
