  2. instagram comments do not disappoint
  3. Lots of volatility between 6-8(with teams outside still having a chance too). No way to tell that yet. yeah i was just kind of making a joke since toronto can't beat us ever
  4. would they've been matched up with toronto?
  5. if forman is indeed in charge and that's the reason that all these weird decisions have been made recently, with paxson either not caring or ceding free rein to him, then i take back what i said on being kinda indifferent about the FO. i actively want them fired now.
  6. i'm not sure what i think is crazier, that you think wade will walk away from a $24M option for one season, or that you think trubisky is going second round. wade knew what he was signing up for here. he picked money and chicago. he didn't come here because of any delusions of contending for a title. he knew this roster wouldn't get past cleveland, even at best. i mean, i'm sure you're going to be right on at least one of those, because i'm an idiot, but for now i still think you're nuts. :-"
  7. is it possible that the controls were handed over to forman like a year or two ago and pax has gotten his hands off? paxson never made big splashes but he always seemed to make decent moves. there have been a lot of completely bizarre decisions (not the least of which was not trading gasol last year) more recently, though. just off the wall weird as hell.
  8. i'm not really mad about giving up an expiring taj and mcdermott...i'm just very confused by this trade. like what was the point?
  9. If he actually shoots open shots instead of faking them, with Russ, he's definitely going to better his numbers in OKC. i feel like this is more a niko thing open 3 in the corner? pump fake contested shot 10 feet beyond the 3 pt line? insta-chuck
  10. wtf
  11. it's gonna be hilarious when the lineups come out on opening night and derwood posts something like "schwarber is leading off? wtf?" in the game thread.
  12. swaggy p would be fun yesss, i want fun and excitement, please get him. also we were really damn good early on when we somehow went like a month being able to hit 3's. he would help us do that
  13. it sucks that we're all stuck with the weird reinsdorfian inner politics with the bulls (the loyalty to former players in terms of management/coaching jobs, the weird clandestine stuff with moles on the roster and coaching staff) thank god we aren't sox fans at least.
  14. swaggy p would be fun
  15. i don't particularly distrust them. (i'll say last offseason was a little bizarre...rondo was a really odd guy to roll dice on) they aren't the completely incompetent buffoons they are made out to be in terms of picking out basketball players and assembling a roster. how they have handled coaches, however, has been an embarrassment (even though i think the thibs thing had run its course with the players). i'd be fine with them being fired but i don't think putting good players around jimmy is something that is out of their capability. they've done some really good things and fired up some airballs.
  16. it doesn't matter anyway apparently the celtics value george more highly than butler even though butler is under contract for longer and is better [tweet] [/tweet]
  17. We have Jimmy for 2 more years. By all means, let's sit and watch 2 more years of .500 basketball before he bolts and we're a 20 win team. Or.....Maybe you still think this is a contender. lol i never thought this team was a contender. yeah, i was encouraged by the early season performance (they were blowing out teams frequently and hanging with or beating very good ones) and thought they could be pretty good but they seem to have maxed out at something of a .500ish team this year. there are basically two contenders in the nba and there will be for the foreseeable future. that is how the nba works. it's not baseball. it's not football. i have said that all along. and you really can't win titles without immense luck. you don't build for it. you can build to be very good. we can do that around jimmy. but you can't plan for getting a generational talent, unfortunately. you either happen to be in the right place at the right time in the draft, or you convince them to take your money over some way warmer city (and it's even harder to do this now). no amount of tanking will get you there either (unless your plan is "hey, let's be terrible for as long as it takes for one to show up at the top of the draft and then hopefully we get the pick that year" - not something i'm willing to do as a fan). i just want a good team that i can enjoy watching over the winter and i, unfortunately, go into it knowing it will end up losing in the playoffs barring injuries. you can build around jimmy and get to that. i'm not saying there's literally no package that is worth trading butler for on his contract. but it's a damn high bar and having a 1/3 chance at the number one pick this year (they don't get bonus draft balls for being extra bad) isn't near enough that anyone should be falling all over themselves like you are to send him off.
  18. yes let's trade butler on an amazing contract so that we can get draft picks that we can only hope we might manage to get one piece as valuable as jimmy is on his contract let's just run, not walk, to do this

  20. that didn't seem to be a problem as far as acquiring cousins Sure it did. The Kings think Hield is the next Curry. Doesn't matter if they're wrong. Bulls barely even have anyone you can squint hard at and see a future starting player. oh come on "the kings liked bad player x on the pelicans. doesn't matter if they're wrong, no way they like bad player y on the bulls" the package was terrible. acquisition cost was not the barrier.
  21. that didn't seem to be a problem as far as acquiring cousins
  22. Looks like they've got the LF and RF lights at Wrigley that who knows if they'll ever actually put up
  23. btw KB ended up about a half win short
