Normally being in Coors I wouldn't put much into a bad start from anyone, but Jake and the rest of the rotation (except Lester) might just all suck/be hurt. Yeah not really basing it on this start, but he hasn't looked all that great this year, nor has Lackey or whoever our 5th starter is. Lester and Hendricks have looked the best but neither of them are even pitching nearly as well as last year and neither are going deep into games. He's striking out 11+ guys/9 and walking 2.3 w a kind of ridiculous HR/FB rate Today he has given up a couple hard hit balls but also a ton of BABIP crap and the error

It's still crazy/hilarious to me that that dude got caught in a prostitution sting (while being recently married iirc) and had his name publicly out there (which obviously in Iowa means in his own publication as well) and didn't lose his job somehow. I'm not even speaking to judging him for it or anything aside from the fact that he was married, I'd just have expected him to get canned. eww, i never knew about this to be clear, in case context wasn't clear enough, i was talking about birch, not jeimer

Good but double header tomorrow kind of sucks That's why I wasn't really all aboard the "I hope this gets canceled so we get some rest" train. DH's are brutal on a team and have documented relatively far reaching effects. At least there's an off day Thursday.

last season the cubs didn't lose their 15th game until this April You want to take another stab at that? i mean it's kind of a silly joke considering the 2016 cubs went through a much worse stretch than what we've seen so far this year.

so far the start to this year reminds me a lot of 2015's early part. A lot of hanging out around .500 and maybe get up as much as 4 or 5 games over but no extended run to pull away. it'll come.
