no on both counts i'm not even a fan of flat brimmed but get with the times old man and he looks like a bad ass so now he needs to pitch like one again nah the beard has tough guy equivalent cliche has died now he just looks like he's hiding something and not the location of his next pitch since he has no idea where it'll go if he were god mode jake, it would look cool. he's giving up a HR on every other fly ball now so he just looks like a poseur. but when he was making MLB hitters look silly at will like he was horsefeathering bob gibson or something and flirting with no hitters like nolan ryan, he looked like a bad ass.

it's just odd considering like 80% of the team wears it that way. strikes me as a get off my lawn complaint at this point...almost as bad as the strop complaining cardinal fans.

the cubs problems being all due to the "failed experiment" of batting schwarber leadoff is all the rage all over chicago sports media today i switched between 670 and 1000 and they were both talking about how they'd drop him/bench him at the same time.

I would assume that that sort of philosophy is consistent throughout the system, but what particular philosophy is applied to a given player is dependent on their skillset.
