  1. I don't think we're making him out to be a scrub. I think if anything, it's more of a response to those who think Griese is some kind of QB god who is going to come in and be lights out. Anyway, I agree that they need to stick with Grossman. If you can develop a franchise QB while winning, you can't ask for much more. He has shown a lot of ability and he just needs to work out the kinks. He's still really young in terms of age, and even younger in terms of games played. From what I have read, nobody is saying that. They're saying that Griese will come in and be more effective and make fewer mistakes. People have been propping Griese up with that "highest passer rating in Bears history" crap since August. A lot of people know the name and just think he's great. Personally, I have a lot of friends from Miami who are Dolphins fans, and they just go on about how terrible Griese is, so maybe I'm a bit biased.

My arguments would probably look a lot more credible if I didn't have this damn sig, LOL.
  3. Griese doesn't throw interceptions. Ever. Oh, and he's great in the playoffs and big games in general.
  4. It's hilarious how people aren't noticing that this thread is two weeks old and that they've already complained about this godawful potential signing (which isn't being discussed nearly as much anymore) in this very thread.
  5. Yea, if anything, I was a little more encouraged by this thread with UK's comment about House saying Prior would be ready to go. Carrol's report just sounds more like him saying "Oh, of course he's going to be hurt and miss starts next year," than him knowing anything concrete.
  6. Please don't be basing this off of yesterday's reports...
  7. Bet on Thursday afternoon. Bets money and calls vegas. So you bet the money before calling Vegas? Thought I should explain. I have mild OCD. I sometimes type things backwards or in poor grammar, on purpose. "Calls vegas and bets life savings". See, I can do it. LOL

  9. boy, that sure is an exaggeration of what really happened I was thinking the same at first, but then I figured he was joking. Maybe not, though.
  10. Those statistics aren't very important at all, especially RBI and R which are almost completely worthless. SB has some value, but Soriano gets himself out on the bases so much that he doesn't exactly provide a ton of value with his baserunning. How the hell are RBI and R almost completely worthless? Is VORP, Isod, Ipod, Ihop, PMS better ways to judge a player? Does this remind anyone else of that guy, CubsLoseAgain, who was mocking the use of modern stats, particularly VORP? Something about "vorping around..."
  11. I dunno. Rex. Mike Brown. Bradley. To a lesser extent, Benson. We've had important players miss pretty significant time. We're just so stacked/deep that we've been able to soften the blows.
  12. This is just another example of Boras floating a made up offer from the Cubs to drive up the bidding from other teams, as we've seen in the past with Drew and Pudge. Just my opinion.
  13. I havent seen any other sites mention it....I'm going to guess its somebody making stuff up. Yea, the Dodger forums haven't mentioned it either. *crosses fingers*
  14. I think having Gerald Perry might also make a difference in the OBP deal. He is going to hammer a good approach into these guys' head, and the previous coaching staff preached a terrible overly aggressive appraoch. I can't say it'll help each and every hitter (plus, some of them have a good approach already), but I definitely think it'll have an overall positive impact on the lineup.
  15. False How so? Roberts is quite a bit better. I would disagree with that. Then please, only if it's just this once, state your reasons why. WITHOUT STATISTICS!!!1111
  16. No matter how stingy they are, the best hitter in franchise history (and that's saying something) deserves to have his number retired. With the organization's disposition toward Sammy, I doubt they will, and that's an absolute disgrace.
  17. Boers and Bernstein are awesome. The only redeeming quality of that station is that show. Really, it's just Bernsie, Boers just sits there and laughs like a hyena at his own dumb jokes. The rest is all garbage... Although, I will say, that it disappoints me that Bernstein, who is a very smart guy, is unfortunately caught up in baseball conventional wisdom like seemingly everyone in the media. I expect more out of him.
  18. McDonough just said that he hasn't heard anything about Lugo on the Score. Take it for what it's worth.
  19. Soriano, Lugo, Lee, Ramirez, Barrett, Murton, Crisp/Jones/Pie, DeRosa Zambrano, Schmidt, Westbrook, Hill, Prior/Miller Wood ...If Schmidt gets done, the rest of that isn't all that unrealistic. I would like a better bat in the 5th spot, but at least we have that type of power in the leadoff spot.
  20. You mean hitters don't hit well against good pitchers and do hit well against bad ones? You're kidding! Never would've thought...wow. Thanks for the insight, DP.
