  1. Unless he goes to prison for a long time, there will be plenty of teams who would pick him up in a heart beat so no his football career isint probably over Maybe teams will give him a chance, but he doesn't seem to want to change his gangster ways. Honestly, I'm not sure what last night's incident showed about his "gangster ways" (unless we know more information about what happened). It just continued to show how bad his judgement is/that he doesn't think. His lawyer was just on WGN and said he was only in this club for 8 minutes, he didnt even have a drink or sit down yet. That doesn't really mean anything. It just means it happened 8 minutes after he got there instead of a couple hours/few drinks in. He still went out with this guy when the Bears had told him not to be involved with anyone like this anymore.
  2. You think he's any worse than RMJ???
  3. Dramatic much? no kidding, idiotic posts like that makes one think Johnson's real name is Urlacher. he was having a decent year but in no way are we losing (if that is the case) a Reggie White type lineman While I don't agree that the Bears' hopes are down the toilet (mainly because I'm not so sure yet that Tank won't be back playing this year), not having him is definitely a huge blow. As others have stated, it's not just the fact that Tank would be out, it's the fact that the defense is already thin, and the defensive line is already missing its best player. Without tank, we're left with Alfonso Boone, Israel Idonije, Ian Scott, and, uh, Antonio Garay. That's the big problem that losing Tank poses for this team.
  4. Why are you assuming that Tank won't play anymore?
  5. Meh. I'm not really bothered by the fact that he had or collects guns. Those types of weapons (i.e. AK-47, AR-15) can be obtained perfectly legally. It's more the fact that he's dumb enough to illegally possess these weapons after already having been brought up on illegal weapons related charges in the not-so-distant past that gets to me.
  6. Well, I kind of expected that. I wonder how the Bucs' run game is. 'Cuz we now have one gaping, massive hole in the middle of that line. We'll need to blitz to get any pressure up the middle too. The Bucs can't run the ball. Nor can they throw it.
  7. That works. Hopefully, it's just for one game. That way, they make it look like they're disciplining him and at the same time they're facing a garbage team so, no harm done.

  9. Whaaa??? Legendary voice?? Not homeristic? I like Joniak, but niether of these descriptions seem very befitting.
  10. I'm in LA, that's my excuse. They're in the greater Chicagoland, what's their excuse? I only have one finger. Quit flicking me off. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is how you get to 33k posts.
  11. Yeah, why? A 26 year old was taken out of the house in cuffs! I doubt Rex lives with Tank, Tanks girlfriend and kids, and 6 pit bulls. Unless Rex is more thuggish than we know. I'm pretty sure Rex lives with his wife somewhere... Do you really need to ruin the fun like that?
  12. Bernstein thinks he is playing unless he's "like doing hard time without bond" sometime soon. It does make sense, though. Innocent until proven guilty, after all.
  13. Tank has been about as useful. At least, he has the potential to be useful.. #-o
  14. Ugh. Why couldn't this be Dante Wesley or Justin Gage or something?
  15. On the other hand, the NL is pretty weak. And I would probably expect a little more out of ARam and Murton. I don't think it's that far fetched (nor would the pitching have to be that dominant) for this team to contend in the NL.
  16. I don't think Chone stands for anything. Its creator's name is Chone Smith, I think. I'd venture a guess that his name isn't Chone, but that he is an Angel fan.
  17. Looks like it's some Angel fan blogger's internet handle.
  18. Punching Judy?
  19. Count me as yay on Jeff Joniak and nay on Windy City Flyer.
  20. Couldn't agree more.
  21. Exactly. How much of Dempster's suckage occurred because he didn't see enough work to close games to begin with? Same deal with Eddie Guardado when he was with the Mariners. I think Ryan Dempster's suckage had a lot more to do with Ryan Dempster sucking than with his lack of consistent work. Dempster doesn't suck. He's not very good, but he doesn't suck. He's OK. He's actually a decent option at closer, because closer is not necessarily where you want your best reliever. I agree about the last point. Still, in my book, a 1.46 WHIP over the last 3 years (.340 OBP against) and a 1.55 WHIP (.360 OBP against) for his career is pretty close to qualifying as sucking. He walks far too many hitters. But, I mean, why argue over terminology? Whether he's "not very good" or "sucks," I dont' want him.
  22. Dempster blew 2 saves in '05 and the Cubs won both those games. Obviously, he meant '04.
  23. Exactly. How much of Dempster's suckage occurred because he didn't see enough work to close games to begin with? Same deal with Eddie Guardado when he was with the Mariners. I think Ryan Dempster's suckage had a lot more to do with Ryan Dempster sucking than with his lack of consistent work.
  24. Dempster becomes available when Wood shows he is healthy enough to pitch the ninth inning. I don't think you need that qualifier. I'd even rather have Eyre or Howry close than Dempster. Doesn't necessarily HAVE to be Wood.
