  1. Last year, Fox was coming back from injury and wasn't able to pitch several days in a row. That fact was lost on Dusty, who threw him 3 times in 4 days(64 total pitches) and he threw his arm out for good on that last outing.
  2. We have always done well in the system with pitchers, once they get to the big legues though Dusty likes to destroy their arms. Who's arm has dusty destroyed? Wood, Prior, Fox off the top of my head. EDIT: And then there was the time he accidentally used Bobby Brownlie's ligaments as catfish bait.... Wood and Prior? First off Wood has been destroyed since highschool, and as far as I know Prior has never had surgery right? Also is Running into Giles or taking a line drive off the elbow is Dusty's fault? Prior and Wood have both had arm problems since Dusty made them throw a ridiculous amount of pitches in the '03 season, they were 1-2 in Pitcher Abuse Points.
  3. I was really surprised at how bad they looked. Time to hope Angola pulls off the upset.

  5. 0-2 and lost him to bring up the pitcher, that sucks
  6. Mexico still looking brighter - but playing for a penalty, again. Nothing doing. I can still see it, and faintly hear the ABC commentary, but it's overwhelmed by the sound of this discovery channel piece. Bizarre. I'll just watch the Cubs until the next game starts.
  7. I now have audio of a documentary about a weather disaster film with bowling ball sized hail.
  8. 28 pitches through 2, he's on pace to go 6-7 innings.
  9. - Including the one where Marquez got taken out on his way through? I didn't see that one, I was referring to the clean tackle from behind, and the fall on the touch line after the ball went out of bounds.
  10. Marmol breaks Dunn's bat. And Len mentions Three True Outcomes. Awesome.
  11. 15 pitches after an 8 pitch AB to Freel, solid.
  12. Iran's defense is looking clueless sometimes back there. A through ball that should've been taken by the keeper gets cleared for a throw, a ball mishandled out of bounds, etc. And thank you to the center official for not buying the multiple Mexican dives in the box.
  13. Yep, but he collected splinters last time. Now that Bynum has 2 HRs to his name, I'd guess the same would happen this time no matter what Restovich is doing in AAA. Well the idea would be to get rid of Bynum to make room for Restovich, but you're right, this won't happen.
  14. We need Restovich on the roster until Lee comes back. We're in the midst of a stretch of games where we're facing a lot of LHP, and we need some sort of RH bat to spell Jones that isn't Bynum.
  15. When you consistently push the envelope with pitcher's outings, you're begging for injury. It's no coincidence that Prior and Wood were ridden really hard down through '03, and both have had injury problems since. There's no cut and dry point where you say that "this is too many pitches for anyone". Sometimes a guy will throw 120 pitches and not throw many high stress pitches, and still have proper mechanics. As a guideline, when you get upwards of 120, there are few pitchers who maintain their form. People with more background than me have noticed Carlos's mechanics breaking down at high pitch counts before, and considering his age and how long we want to have him around, it makes little sense pushing Carlos to that level of risk as consistently as Dusty does.
  16. Trade for Nick Johnson and move Lee to the outfield or trade him.
  17. You can't listen to the radio in your house?
  18. As someone who desn't care for Dusty and Hendry, I really don't appreciate the sweeping generalizations and assumptions. The fact that you apparently haven't even taken the time to understand the arguments("ratios, statistics and baloney") presented makes it pretty difficult to even debate the issue while you rip the posters you find fault in.
  19. It's really great that we have a pitching prospect doing really well at just about every level. Hill at AAA, Marmol at AA(although he's no longer there), Gallagher at High A, Veal and Atkins at Low A, and Pawelek at short season may end up better than any of them.
