  1. The most convenient is to look at team offensive stats in the #5 spot. Jones's .834 OPS ties him for 14th of 30 teams. His .334 OBP would be 25th. The Cubs were 29th and 30th in these two categories respectively.
  2. The same place the offsides call was on that third and short where Rex was nearly sacked. Berrian didn't complain....
  3. For those like me that missed Bush getting laid out, here's a youtube link.
  4. It has to be Buck. Most of those guys are paid to give their opinions about what happens, and they're terrible at it. Buck is terrible at it, it's not even his job, and yet he still editorializes all the time.
  5. when he makes me feel like he deserves two more typing motions. 27 HR and .833 OPS for $5mil doesn't deserve 2 more typing motions? And I'll be ok with trading jones when we get someone who can hit 20HR atleast and ~.800 OPS. Or if not atleast a high OBP to make up for a lack of either. Until then, KEEP JONES!! He's a very good #5 hitter! If I were a betting man, I'd put good money on Jones not coming close to last year's production. Don't be surprised to see a sub-.320 OBP from him this year. And no one who puts up a .334 OBP is a "very good #5 hitter".
  6. Cavs beat the Clips in LA, 2-1 on the left coast trip thus far.
  7. Because Colts = Seahawks? You're reaching.
  8. What an ugly game. Down 10 at the half and battled back before blowing their shot at the end(down 5, Marshall Brown had a breakaway dunk that he one handed off the back iron). 57 fouls called in the game and 73 free throws, ridiculous. Damn you Marshall Brown... To be fair though, he's the reason we came back from the 16 point deficit. He was driving the lane at will, knocked down a couple treys, and I don't think he missed a FT all day. But if he had just gone with two hands on that finish....

  10. So you're grabbing Monopoly money out of the urinal?
  11. Bummer for Tennessee. Lofton misses the front end of a 1 and 1, then Lewis makes a 3(his foot was on the line) with 14 secs left, Tennessee misses a couple tries, and OSU clears(Butler was out of bounds when he threw it out of danger.)
  12. Tennessee up 1 with the ball in Columbus with 26.5 secs left.
  13. Seriously, it's not like the paper that owns the Cubs implies he's getting a roster spot or anything....
  14. The only way he should be near the team is if Cedeno, Theriot, and Fontenot all get Polio.
  15. Meh, Simms isn't very good, but I don't care if they don't draft another QB because the Bucs have holes elsewhere.

  17. How many teams could be drafting WR in the first round? With Johnson, Jarrett, Ginn, Meachem, and Rice all being similar if not better talents(Bowe is at the bottom of the Big Board too), hopefully that pushes Samardzija out of the pay rate he would want to give up on baseball.
  18. I think that's partially because it's so hard to see how teams are going to develop. There's a lot of young teams this year all the way through the conference(aTm and Tech are really the only schools that have a heavy senior class), and while the draft will claim some of the top talent, I think you'll see a much stronger conference next year, especially since there are so many first year coaches this year.
  19. Yeah, I've read two of those now and didn't see anything remotely entertaining.
  20. Today the Big 12 and Pac 10 announced they agreed to a 4 year series matching the schools from their conferences, a la the Big 10/ACC challenge. Link BIG 12 / PAC-10 MEN'S BASKETBALL SERIES Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007 Oregon at Kansas State Oklahoma at USC Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 Washington State at Baylor Iowa State at Oregon State Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 Washington at Oklahoma State Missouri at California Sunday, Dec. 2, 2007 Arizona State at Nebraska Stanford at Colorado Texas at UCLA Texas A&M at Arizona Outside the 10-game series window Arizona at Kansas (Sun., Nov. 25, 2007) Stanford vs. Texas Tech (Sat., Dec. 22, 2007) [Neutral Site To Be Determined]
  21. I don't understand. Are you a barroid fan? No, I just don't care. Now the media's going to start up the whole 24/7 coverage of this again though, making it more difficult to avoid.
  22. Argh, now there's even going to be more crap than usual that I'm going to have to avoid.
