That might be the core of a deal, but I would think it would take some tweaking since Zambrano (although a possible free agent)>Santana and Murton (so far in the majors)>Wood. I was under the impression that Wood will be the far superior player, if not this year than in the future. You're right.

i agree with you big time on this...he was hobbling all over the place today that is not good...last time i checked you still have to run in left field I will third this....he was not even looking close to healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if he was put on the 15 day DL retroactively tomorrow. (They can do that right?) On the other hand, he was jumping up and down on DeRosa's blooper like he was completely fine. -
I too think the Angels are the trading partner to deal with since they have the prospects and the money to sign Z to an extension. Definitely. To elaborate, the circumstances that at least some of would make a Z/Murton for Santana/Wood deal feasible: Z returning to form Murton playing well Weaver pitching well Aybar and/or Izturis/Figgins playing well Pie proving he belongs in MLB offensively Garret Anderson continuing to be an offensive black hole

Under the right circumstances, I could see a Zambrano + Murton for Santana + Wood deal working for both teams.

Not yesterday though. 5/0 K/BB in 7 IP and only 1 baserunner per inning(with no XBH).

He isn't picking up that it was a slider and not the fastball. He would've been able to lay off both his strikeouts if he could. no, he's been laying off that obviously outisde pitch, but it's being called. he can't not swing at it. the ump is screwing him. But both those pitches bit into the dirt, neither would've been called strikes.
