  1. I'd do it for a 2nd this year and 1st next year, the third doesn't get me nearly as excited. Don't want to upset any Browns fans, but I'll bet that 1st round pick next year will be top 10. I wasn't around when it happened, so this seems like a good time to congratulate Joe Thomas on being a bust in the NFL.
  2. is that Cliffy Flody??? :D An episode of Smart Guy so influenced my childhood that I'm now compelled to call every Floyd I encounter by Flody.
  3. Blanco handles Z well, so I'm ok with that. But Pie goes yard, starting to come together offensively and he's benched? Come on. It's a day after a night game too, I'm just preparing for the offensive futility. At least I'll be at work and not able to see the game.
  4. Wouldn't Jacksonville be a prime candidate to trade down now? From what I can gather, they need help on the O-Line and LB, but anyone from those spots right now would be a reach.
  5. Kinda random, but what do we think of Josh Horton? Does he project to stay at SS, and how fast is he projected to move through a system?
  6. Millen just said in a presser that Johnson is staying in Detroit. Well, that sucks. A lot.
  7. That poem is the most nonsensical thing ever. Even ignoring the content it was almost unreadable.
  8. Is there any more noise about Tampa getting Johnson from Detroit? I was really hoping that he'd fall to 4. :(
  9. Yeah, you pretty much hit the nail on the head. I'm afraid to even credit Marquis at all, for fear that as soon as I do is when he remembers just who he actually is. Considering your mea culpa with Lilly, that's probably a rational fear.
  10. Texas and KU will be the favorites in the Big 12. KSU and aTm lose too much to graduation and departing coaches. On a homeriffic note, Mizzou returns everybody and adds DeMarre Carroll, but I doubt that's enough to challenge for the overall title, although I think they'll be capable of knocking off anyone in the conference.
  11. The atmosphere at that Warriors game was crazy.
  12. Gallagher down at 81 too.
  13. Bittersweet for me. Good that a player of his caliber isn't on my rival anymore, but no more chance to make him a whipping boy when they come to Columbia. Good luck Brandon, thanks for passing up that game winning jumper two years ago.
  14. In this case it's referring to the Other Games thread, which hardly ever are more than a couple pages.
  15. Woah, a Glasscow sighting.
  16. I think I'd go with: Soriano LF/RF Murton LF/RF Lee 1B Ramirez 3B Barrett C DeRosa 2B Pie CF Theriot SS
  17. I don't see why not. They aren't exactly brimming with young talent coming up from the minors and there is plenty of deadwood on the 40 man already. I would do it if Prior agreed to it. and during the season hed be on the 60 day dl meaning they get an extra slot on the 40 man roster. that would allow him to accumulate major league service time, so i don't think that's happening this year (or next). he'll have to sit on the 40-man and on the minor league DL for the cubs to retain his rights for 2009. Does that change his contract negotiations? Can you be a "1st/2nd/3rd year arbitration" player more than once?
  18. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the LHP thing.
  19. He hasn't thrown more than 86 innings in a season in his professional career. I really doubt he threw that many in any of his college seasons either. I think he's going to hit a wall, nobody can just not throw 100 innings in a season for 15 years and all of a sudden be able to go twice that, never mind the quality of those innings.
  20. Braden Looper has a no-hitter in the 5th against Cincinnati. 1-0 St. Louis. EDIT: Gonzalez just broke it up with a single. Pittsburgh leads Houston 3-1 in the 8th.
  21. If he didn't have to move to get to any of the balls hit to him, how do you know he doesn't have the range?
