  1. He's not light years worse than Marquis. There would have to be a gain, but we're not talking like a Miguel Cabrera type gain to have a net improvement. The comparison is Marshall to Dempster, not Marquis to Dempster.
  2. Dempster has almost 1000 innings as a starter with a 5 ERA and a 4.7 BB/9 that didn't really improve when he became a reliever. The conceptual idea of "use Marshall as a trading chip and replace the hole in the rotation from within" isn't a bad one, but I'd put Dempster behind Marmol, Gallagher, Prior, Hart, and maybe even Wood on the list of people used to fill that hole.
  3. At the risk of stating the obvious, Marmol is only a relief pitcher if you put him in the bullpen.
  4. He can't be tying himself down until he finds out where Roger's going.
  5. Just because it might be lost on some who only took a peek at Crawford's rate stats...he steals a ton of bases at a good percentage. Looking at RC or EqA he's a half step below ARam in terms of offensive production(looking at THT's GPA, he's right there with Manny). I wouldn't give up Hill AND Marmol, but I'd probably give up either(definitely Marmol) in a package for him.
  6. I'm pretty sure I'm going to win. What's the count in the matchup between O_O and IMB? Both are 5-3.
  7. New AP and Coaches Top 10: 1. OSU 2. LSU 3. Oregon 4. Oklahoma 5. Kansas 6. West Virginia 7. Mizzou 8. Boston College 9. Arizona State 10. Georgia
  8. Wow, I did not see Mizzou humiliating Colorado in Boulder. Coffman and Rucker are the best two TEs in the country.
  9. I've only looked at gamecast a bit, but it looks like they've gotten some big plays. Not very many sustained drives.
  10. Maybe, but I wouldn't hold out much hope, especially since he has multiple superior options keeping him from that role in our system, in Pie and Patterson.
  11. Cabrera, easy
  12. I did. I wanted Aldridge in the worst way possible. Yeah, I was just being a jerk because I rabidly endorsed Aldridge while being mildly anti-Thomas from the time the tourney ended through the draft. I'm sure some people from the Draft thread can vouch for my madness. Mark_R was a huge Aldridge guy too, right?
  13. I thought about that, maybe they let him keep the source code or whatever the infrastructure is for it without all the blanks being filled in, so to speak.
  14. If it's anything Cub, I'd have to think it's ownership-related.
  15. I'm surprised you put Gibson at 1.
  16. I don't see how adding a 3rd team makes the amount the Bulls given up any less. They may be splitting the return between the Lakers and Suns, but they still have to give up what's deemed as "Kobe's value". It could if the 3rd team valued the Bulls offerings more highly than the Lakers do. That's different than what Soul was saying, and even then I think it's unlikely that the difference in perceived value is enough to make much of a difference in what the return is.

  18. Hey, your SOS will probably crack the top 100 whether you squeak by or annihilate the Huskers, so you've got that going for you.
  19. A strong overall week for me. 7 out of 9 spots over 10 points. Vance still has a bunch of guys still playing in the second half, but I'm up about 35 points. How's everyone else doing?
  20. I think Nebraska taking Texas to the limit in Austin is probably indication enough that they're not going to be overwhelmed in Lawrence.
  21. From the "you have to see it to believe it" files: DIII Trinity wins on the last play of the game where they lateral the ball. A lot. Like maybe 15 times. Video
  22. SC misses their field goal, and another ranked team goes down.
  23. KU notwithstanding(we get a shot at them anyways), this has been nearly a perfect week for teams around Mizzou in the polls going down. Go Cal. How do you get a false start at home when you're running the 2 minute offense?
