  1. [expletive]. My brother lives in Portland. I went to visit him and nearly OD'd on delicious gourmet donuts like these. If you don't want to eat a donut covered in Froot Loops, then you're a communist. There. I said it. Froot Loop covered donuts are great, a welcome distraction from an existence in the hellhole of amazing weather and natural beauty that is the PNW. Never move here it is bad and this is definitely not a ruse to keep my cost of living down.
  2. And by that I mean, the northwest is terrible and inhospitable, no one should ever move here
  3. No one cares about humidity when it's between 40 and 80 degrees 360 days a year. It's also the least humid in the warmest parts of the year.
  4. My immediate memory was that Montgomery has arm injuries in his past(like TJS or near that level of severity), but I can't seem to find anything like that and he doesn't have any big playing time gaps. Anyone else know/remember anything about his health?
  5. What's Blackburn's story? I can't keep our pitching prospects straight. Any Cubs pitching prospect currently pitching in full season ball should elicit an 'lol okay' if traded. Even among that malaise, Blackburn stands out for his complete and total lack of noteworthiness. He is the beige khakis of pitching prospects.
  6. Zach Lee or Adrian Sampson would make some sense. Lee in giving another shot to a failed prospect, and Sampson as a potentially undervalued guy(he's very close to the thresholds from my Hendricks comps article).
  7. They're pretty light on outfielders too, especially those with any future prospects. Wonder if Szczur could be a possibility.
  8. Paxton is a starter, at least he has been. Montgomery would be an interesting and worthwhile bullpen addition.
  9. He claimed on a MiLB deal during the season I think? He's been at Iowa. He played 7 MLB games for the Cubs this year. btw, didn't Edwards debut last year? Right, he was up during the Nationals series, I was trying to say that he started at Iowa before that brief stint(and after too). And yes, Edwards debuted last year, I should've said 2016 debut.
  10. He claimed on a MiLB deal during the season I think? He's been at Iowa.
  11. Foul ball right side, Rizzo gives chase but isn't going to get there, Javy makes the catch at the tarp while somehow knocking both his knees against the tarp.
  12. Hendricks now just a sliver under 6 WAR since the start of 2015 (50 starts)
  13. why would you go anywhere near the plate with 2 outs and Hendricks on deck?
  14. I think his foot might have gotten to the plate, at the least it was close enough that I'm surprised there wasn't any talk of challenging it that we could see on the broadcast.
  15. James Loney you just got thrown out on a 2 out single to center from 350 feet. That should count as two outs if you're that slow.
  16. The level of Montero hate has confused me. He's not having a good year, but putting him in platoon advantage situations and letting him frame for Hendricks is a good idea.
  17. Don't be a quitter. #Klinsmann4Sunderland
  18. Montero has only caught 2 of the previous 12 days and is catching 60% of the time at most right now, so I don't think the wear and tear of a single night/day is as big a concern.
  19. Whaaa? These jerseys are fantastic. they could be worse, but they are bad
  20. I bet it was Teheran. EDIT: Missed the quote about it not being a guy in current trade rumors. I'll guess Archer then.
