weird, i feel sorta the opposite. like he seems to hit a ton of pop ups and stuff, especially when he falls into his ruts. Doing a little poking around baseball savant, Russell had a below average Avg. Exit Velocity last year, but was near the top 10% or so in > 95 mph hits and 'barrels'.

Are you sure this wasn't from Friday's game? That's exactly where Happ put Friday's HR. They're in the same area, but it looks like yesterday's was hit further.
