  1. Fields had 158 yards passing 25 minutes ago of game time. He now has 157.
  2. LOL @ Getsy and Eberflus. What bitch asses
  3. LOL. Converts multiple 3rd and longs, then neutered in the red zone.
  4. I can't even blame them for the short passes. The OL isn't going to hold up on 3rd and long. Take the points. Now 2nd and long runs up the middle......
  5. Happy to see Herbert get more time as the lead back. Less excited about seeing more of Ebner, but maybe he will be better if he's not also returning kicks because Velus is in. I really didn't like the Ebner pick. He was 1 of 2 picks (that FS they drafted from CAL is the other) that I didn't even really understand even going into it with an open mind. I understand there was an injury, but I don't really like him as a #2 RB. He's a #3, but he only really has value in the passing game. Even for 4-6 carries per game, I don't really like him anywhere between the tackles. He's more of a guy I'd like if you had this fun, wide open offense where you needed an extra weapon to keep teams from committing too much attention to your WRs/TEs. Put him in KC or Buffalo, cool. Chicago? Meh.
  6. No David Montgomery or Jaylon Johnson this week. Cruikshank also out on special teams. Conversely, the Giants are missing Kadarius Toney, Wan'Dale Robinson, starting CB Cordale Flott, and most importantly the best player on their team, Leonard Williams. Velus practiced in full for the first time in forever, and is likely to make his debut.

    NFL Week 4

I'm really interested to see how this is handled from here. I know the NFLPA investigation won't lead to horsefeathers. But how does Miami handle him. I'd guess it's a pretty solid sign that the doctors in Cincy allowed him to fly back home. I believe when a fighter is knocked on in a similar pose, they have to sit out for 6 weeks. I have 0 doubt that Tua will play again this season. But I think the pressure now is on Miami to put him on short-term IR at the very least for 4 weeks and maybe even give him a couple weeks of practice before bringing him back.

    NFL Week 4

I've gone into on Twitter about how I feel about the whole thing. To sum up my thoughts on the Tua situation. This isn't a team, player or doctor issue. It's a system issue. The league itself is a mega corporation run by billionaires and their investments. The biggest single factor in that investment is the QB. Some things don't even need to be said anymore. I heard a statement this AM that made me laugh a bit. "There is an INDEPENDENT doctor, assigned to EACH TEAM". Talk about a contradiction. Yeah, he isn't PAID by the team, but the doctor is assigned to watch players for this specific team. But you don't have to tell the team doctor to make sure the QB passes concussion protocol so your team can win. They already know it. One of the ex-Patriot players commended the team on how they handled his similar concussion by putting him on IR, despite the fact that he wanted to keep playing. But being careful with Joe Lineman's concussion is much easier than being careful with Tom Brady's. Lineman misses the year, you go on with the season. Starting QB misses the year, you get a high draft pick. Doctors know this, teams know this, owners know this, all are affected by the financial impact of NOT having star QBs on the field. The players know they have a short shelf life. They don't care if their quality of life is affected after 50 if they can maximize their earnings while in their 20s. With the extreme caveat that I'm not a doctor and I've never knowingly had a concussion....I have had a back injury (surgery in my future) and I've had trouble getting up and straightening my back, but I've never had wobbly knees from back pain. I've never had back pain cause me to shake my head as if there were cobwebs to shake off, after standing up. I won't discount that there is a possibility Tua could have passed concussion protocols, especially right after it happened. I also won't discount that he could have "faked" not having a concussion by knowing how to respond to questions and the various testing. He also could have not told anyone if he was having symptoms all week. He played well after coming back Sunday, and showed no signs of concussion after the stumble, but I'd be willing to bet he did suffer a concussion Sunday. Basically, it could be on any number of the player, doctors, coaches, etc. to all or no extent. But it's pretty clear someone screwed up badly and this kid's livelihood is what has to suffer because of it.

    NFL Week 4

They'd consider that for 1/2 a second before they'd remember they really like money.
  10. I get the sentiment but does anybody really think a 3rd round rookie receiver who has barely practiced with this team is going to make a difference anytime soon? I don't see him doing anything besides endarounds and WR screens and the occasional quick slants. I guess though, the best thing that comes from that is some easy throws/yardage for Fields, which would make a pretty solid difference in how this offense feels.
  11. I really hadn't heard too much about the turf there, somehow. I guess that's where Zach Wilson got hurt in preseason too. Wonder if that'll influence the decision to play Montgomery.
  12. That legitimately made me happy. Hasta La Viska!
  13. I think I agree here. The Bears blue-on-blues aren't bad, but I hate them because I feel they always lost in them. But for the most part, I don't like all 1 color unless it's all black (Ravens, Saints, Bengals) or all white....unless it's the boring ass Colts all whites. I think the white helmet sends it over the top for me as being "too much". Oh and I absolutely hate the jerseys with huge splashes of color on them. Think Broncos with the giant orange stripes or whatever and the Cardinals white jerseys which are basically half red.
  14. Agreed. Also, it does matter that they are throwbacks. Because the person who "designed" them that Sofa has beef with, designed them like 60 years ago. They are updated versions of the 60s design. So, not only do they "look like the Bears" they literally are what the Bears used to look like.
  15. Like an old racehorse. At this point, I hope the Bulls sell him to a family so they can enjoy him playing basketball in their backyards instead of sending him to the glue factory.
  16. Wait, WTF am I reading? People don't like the uniforms the Bears wore Sunday? They are horsefeathering excellent. The orange jerseys are bad. All white uniforms are excellent as well. The blue throwbacks with the block orange lettering are wonderful as well. These are facts. You can debate, but you are wrong.
  17. Those numbers come down a lot when you figure in the 46 and 27 yd long runs for both backs. Pollard still had a very solid 5 ypc but Zeke goes down to 3.3 ypc without his long. The Barkley TD run was impressive though. He made a cut at the 20 yd line and just ran away from everyone without any help. Yeah, all numbers go down if you take out the biggest plays. The Bears have shown the ability to make big plays in the run game, so I see no reason to discount those runs the Cowboys duo had.
  18. Their depth chart lists Richie James, Wan'Dale Robinson and David Sills as their starting WRs. Weird because Toney, Golladay and Slayton are still on the roster but they all appear to be in the doghouse. Shepherd, James and Sills had the most snaps yesterday. Golladay had 24 snaps, Slayton 14. Toney is hurt, but potentially could be back this week.
  19. So the Giants almost won that game last night, but there was a LOT of bad stuff from them in that game. - Daniel Jones was pressured like 22 times on 42 snaps. 52% of the time. I didn't see any from Micah Parsons while I was watching. The Cowboys did blitz a ton though. - There was a stat shown that the Giants have only had 1 pass play over 25 yards this season. And their best receiver was carted off the field late in the game - There was a stat shown that the Giants haven't scored in the final 2 minutes of a half in the last 19 (now 20) games. They are pretty similar to the Bears in a lot of ways. They don't run the ball nearly as well, but Barkley looks pretty good so far and is a threat to break off a big run every time he touches it. Daniel Jones was really effective with his legs and I believe ran for 7 first downs in the game. He kept several drives alive and his scrambling was a big reason for most of their points. Their defense got gashed in the run game. Almost 6 yards per carry overall, but 8 ypc for Pollard. It also felt like Cooper Rush was throwing to guys running wide open most of the game. Giants don't appear to rush the passer very well, so he had time to throw and crossers and corners were there, whether the WR dropped them or not. The Bears in comparison only have 2 pass plays over 25 yards, to be fair. And the Cowboys only had a couple pass plays over 25 last night. I think this plays right into the Bears' hands if they can get the run game going and playaction the Giants to death. Fields hopefully will have time. Just gotta make the right reads and throw on time and accurately.
  20. "not sure what he;'s looking at" - he isnt looking AT the WR's, hes looking at the D! and he's confused by it I'm guessing he looked at that nearest CB, but I think he does jump the underneath route probably later than Fields had hoped. But even if that's the case, there's no reason not to throw to the underneath guy once you hit the end of your drop. If he threw it quick enough, nobody can say that corner route is open because the CB is kinda in no-mans land. He's literally covering nobody for a bit and a throw can be made in front or behind him. Neither is not a real option here.
  21. Thinking about this, part of this is what gives me hope. I think this is similar to how Fields played against Cleveland and other games early in the year (Tampa). Things are just too fast for him right now or his brain is working too slow. He's not anticipating at all. Anticipation throws aren't really his thing, but he has to understand leverage and where safeties are. Maybe between the throwing mechanics, footwork, and new playbook he's just got too much going on right now. IDK, not trying to make excuses for him, but most of his issues seem like things that will come with experience and it seems like last year's experiences don't really matter at this point.
  22. That was similar to the other interception, except the 1st could have still been completed with a good throw. Guys are running wide open on the outside because Fields is staring down receivers in the middle of the field. I almost wonder if they are preaching to him to look middle, because he almost never threw in the middle of the field last year or in college. Most of his damage, and attempts for that matter, is done outside the numbers. The windows in the middle of the field close very fast in the NFL. They close even faster if the QB doesn't look off safeties. Then throw in that Fields is late to pull the trigger on damn near everything at this point, and you get turnovers on 10% of your throws.
  23. They were really good last year, but lost their best DB, Bradbury this offseason. They've been top 10 so far, but they've faced Tannehill, Baker Mayfield and tonight Cooper Rush; so tough to get a good read. Tannehill did throw for 266 though. Mayfield only threw for 145 against them, which is about 50 more YPG than Fields has averaged so far.
  24. Those were his thoughts yesterday, live response to the game. But yeah, that's probably standard propaganda after a game like yesterday. I could say, "I told you so" that the team hasn't decided Fields isn't the guy, but it's meaningless like you said.
  25. He'll play this week. Won't guarantee he'll be any good, but he will play probably play more this year than Kevin White did as a Bear in total.
