  1. Yeah, Jays. It's funny, Cubs kept 2 LHPs vs. the Giants, probably gonna have 3 vs. the Dodgers, and if they get Toronto they'll only really need 1 as they are so RH. But I'd much rather see dong filled 8-6 games all series vs. 3-2 more stressful pitching duels. Though, the Cubs pitching clearly has the ability to hold the Jays down much more than that. *Numbers don't include Chapman, because he's the closer and he's a bad matchup for everyone.
  2. You ever talked to anyone that has taken Viagra? 1 pill will get them thru a whole week of vacation.
  3. Playoff Kershaw has never been peak Kershaw. But strangely, short-rest Kershaw has been better than regular-rest Kershaw overall in the playoffs. All on 3 days' rest: 2015- 7 IP, 3 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, 8 Ks 2014- 6 IP, 4 hits, 3 ER, 2 BB, 9 Ks (good compared to his 8 ERs allowed in Game 1 of the same series) 2013- 6 IP, 3 hits, 0 ER (2 R), 1 BB, 5 Ks
  4. He also could have had a lefty facing heyward with bases loaded and a gidp or shallow pop the inevitable outcome. Probably didn't want to put on the winning run. But I think that's a stupid narrative in general.
  5. Bochy really botched that 9th inning. He over thought everything. Chose Bitch face Law to start the inning and takes him out after a seeing eye (though hard hit) single. Closer faces 1 batter. Chose struggling LHP vs Contreras instead of RHP/closer vs Coghlan. Clearly didn't trust anyone in the pen, and got lucky that Moore was able to give him 8.
  6. Even after the leadoff single and a 3-1 count, you still have to think "man, 3 runs is a lot to get before you record 3 outs". It's still not the most likely outcome of 2 men on to start an inning.
  7. Reading this was actually kinda sad: http://www.mercurynews.com/2016/10/11/casilla-weeps-after-being-passed-over-in-fateful-collapse-in-ninth/ I'd probably take a look at him on a 1-year deal this offseason, if he's willing. "If you're a relief pitcher and you don't want your manager dancing around the dugout and not putting you in the games.....come to Death Row....er um Wrigley Field"
  8. I fell asleep on the couch and missed the entire top of the 8th. So, I figured I'd just go upstairs to bed and get the sleep that I so sorely missed by going to bed at 2:30 the night/morning before (waking up at 5:50, which is sleeping in 30 minutes for me).
  9. I'm just posting in here because I can. And it's awesome.
  10. That clearly was going to drop, Fowler. Baez would have gotten to 3rd.
  11. I didn't like overthinking the lineup with Soler getting a start. I didn't like Arrieta hitting and then pitching the 6th I didn't like Wood coming into the game. The only move I liked was going to Chapman. Moral of the story, Joe keep doing stupid horsefeathers that I don't like.
  12. Wood v Belt. Rondon v. Posey and Pence. Chapman if anyone gets on.
  13. Joe making another move I don't like. Strop can get out Span just fine.
