I just don't like that argument anymore. Not that you're wrong, but we should all expect to be the team with the GM that doesn't screw it up. Not one of the teams that did. Yeah, I wasn't trying to excuse Pace. He definitely screwed up as well and it's a fireable offense type of pick. Just saying that he gets the brunt of the media hate for picking Trubisky over the other two.

Pace gets killed because he picked a lesser QB, but the first 10 teams on the clock screwed up that draft just as bad. Clev- #1 pick, got a future possible defensive MVP in Garrett which is fine, but also traded the pick (12) that became Deshaun Watson. Would have the #1 pick the year after as well. SF- passed on QB just so they could trade a high 2nd and give 100+Mil to Jimmy Garoppolo. Took them to a SB, but they'll probably try to get out of that deal this offseason and start over at QB. Jax- Passed on QB for a RB and kept Blake Bortles. Ten- passed on QB, keeping Mariota. Eventually traded a pick (not significant) for Tannehill and paying him millions of dollars NYJ- passed on QB, only to take QB early the year later. That QB is going to lead them to the #1 pick this year. LAC- passed on QB to keep 36-year old Rivers around. Drafted a QB top 10 this past offseason CAR- passed on QB, which is understandable with Cam Newton. But he has since been often injured and cut, forcing them to spend several million on a slightly above average vet QB CiN- drafted John Ross, who ran fast and just as quickly became a bust. They would pick #1 in just 3 years where'd they'd take....a QB. BUF- traded the pick that would become Mahomes, to give the job to Tyrod Taylor and Nate Peterman. Would draft Josh Allen the next year. All the teams that passed on Mahomes and Watson ended up with a top 10 pick either the next year or the year after and literally every single one would need to completely overhaul their QB position within 3 years.....some multiple times.

I disagree with every word of this. First, Pace gets plenty of heat. Many predicted the Trubisky draft would get him fired by the 2018 offseason. Instead, they won the division. People were grilling Pace for trading assets for Foles when they could have had Dalton or Newton. Bears fans definitely get on Pace pretty consistently. As for him being horrible.....the Trubisky was weird. It was immediately ridiculed for the trade up. But I'd say about 70% of draft publications had Trubisky rated as the highest QB in the draft, ahead of Watson and Mahomes. And obviously, that pick has been ridiculed since those 2 have become elite QBs. And horrible is a little much. The early round picks are obviously killers. Trubisky, Kevin White and Shaheen were bad picks, but he's also drafted several building blocks for this team (Jackson, Goldman, Smith, Whitehair, Cohen, etc) and Hicks may be the best FA signing of the last 10 years. He has a better draft record than many GMs. I'm not trying to say he's "good" by any means, but he's not horrible. The Bears can and have done worse (see every GM since 1987). I also wouldn't shed a tear if they got rid of him tomorrow. Whoa, hey, Jerry Angelo did an admirable job and only started making bad moves once Lovie gained enough respect and power within the organization to influence the draft. That's true. I forgot about good Angelo. The "we don't need first round picks because we find stars later in the draft" Jerry Angelo was the guy I was remembering.

nah...but Foles may start to seriously consider retirement leaving us w/o an experienced QB next year Oh no! If that happens the Bears offense might become bad.

Titans are a pretty bad pass rushing OL. Clowney still isn't really doing much off the edge, except run D. Jeffrey Simmons is a monster inside, though. I don't think Wilson has a chance to pass Fields for QB2. One is dominating University of Houston, the other is dominating the Big Ten and will be in the CFP playoff. Plus, I still think Trey Lance is QB3. Teams are going to drool over a 20 year old with great size, arm and tools; with. 1000 yard rushing, 30TD/0 INT undefeated national title season as a freshman. That being said, those top 3 have potential to go 1-2-3 in the draft. Definitely all will be gone top 10. Can't find where I read it, but I read earlier that Tyreke Hill is tied with Randy Moss for most TDs over 40 yards in NFL history (23). If this is true, that's freaking insane for a 26-year old in his 4th season.

The "bridge" is to the QB drafted this offseason. The Bears apparently don't want to throw a rookie QB in to start the season. So, when Foles gets hurt the rookie will take over is the plan.

The problem is (like I said pregame) is that this offense isn't good enough to overcome those "few bad throws". It's not good enough to overcome false starts on 3rd and 4, or drops, or personal fouls where you punch an unsuspecting DB in the face. If Foles makes those throws it's fine if he can consistently take the team down like the last TD drive. He, more than anyone, should know he can't afford to do that with the guys around him and on his sidelines. I'm also grading Foles on a Bears QB curve. He's still bad. But I thought he was decent yesterday (at least compared to what most are saying) and don't get the calls for Trubisky. Don't think that game gets to overtime with Trubisky. Gotcha. Yeah, definitely not calling for Trubisky. It's pretty pointless. He's gone after the year. Foles is under contract. Might as well see if he can be a viable bridge guy for 2021.

The Bears did come out in a lot of 3-wide and ran the ball much better. Most of the yards came on a 40-yard run by Montgomery on 3rd and 1, but that was also a 3-wide play. Kmet played 30 snaps, Graham played 40, but Harris only played 5. Graham's snaps increased when the Bears were trying to come back late and after Kmet's fumble that didn't count. Patterson only had 3 touches, one was a last option check down. Even got Mitch in on a wildcat like play. Someone was listening to me. Trevathan stayed on the field and played OK. Not a lot of Bush, Skrine gave up a couple big conversions. Smith played very well. But they still couldn't stop Kamara. The bigger issue was redzone coverages that were soft. Game obviously was winnable. Again had a false start on 3rd and 4. Dropped passes by Graham almost constantly. Foles missed throws and open receivers (saw a screenshot of a wide open Montgomery on a wheel route that went to Miller on 3rd down). He had Robinson open on the 4th down dropped INT. Again, you gotta play flawlessly on offense when you don't have the talent and coaching. They didn't.

Six days ago at this time, the Bears had a shot to be the #1 seed in the NFC. Now, they sit on the outside of the playoff race looking in with losses to the 2 teams closest to them in the playoff standings. Graham, Miller, Jackson and Smith all with overtime drops that probably win the game if caught.

Bears once again had the lesser coach by a large margin, that 1st down FG attempt notwithstanding.

Don't call a timeout and let him think it over. This is a stupid move. He should miss off principle.
