    I needed .75 today just to get up to .5 from the catcher position. Everything else went pretty well, though.

    No, you accumulate service time on the 60 day DL. In theory they could option Schwarber prior to DLing him, but that would be a grievance the Cubs would and should lose. "But he didn't even have a hit! We thought he could use some more seasoning when healthy."

    Putting him on the 60 day removes him from counting towards the 40-man so they can add a guy who currently isn't on the 40-man without having to make a corresponding move other than 60 day DL'ing Schwarber. With the 15 day he still counts on the 40-man. He gets that part...he's asking why they didn't move him to the 60 day yet.
