  1. That's it. Someone kneecap Syndergaard.
  2. He said there are still teams out there that love Soler, and there are no untouchables in the minors. I think he also talked about Doolittle, but that was before he was put on the DL. It was nothing earth shattering, but the La Stella thing stuck out to me like he specifically had heard something. He's basically a PH for us moving forward. Javy took his at bats. He's a solid hitter, but he's not really a natural fit for this 25 man roster. I think he'd still get starts against tough right handers.
  3. Duke, I liked the article so much I posted a link at Cubs.com and am engaging people there as a result. I feel dirty.
  4. That's awesome.
  5. Tseng had been changed his pitch-style for last 2 years. He threw hard last year but lost his control badly. IMO,this kid wanted to prove his talent and he messed up. Tseng has one of best CH in our farm, plus CB with very good command, 87-92mph sinking fastball, solid cutter also. It's difficult to said that but i think Tseng could be the next Kyle Hendricks. Welcome!
  6. At 21, Butler took 43 BBs to 32 Ks in AAA over 256 PAs. He walked 11.4% of the time in the minors with a 15% K rate overall. So that one's out the door too. At 23, the age Vogelbach is putting up his first standout offensive season since Low A ball, he was hitting .301/.362/.492 over a full ML season. Any progress? How many are minor league 1B/DHs? Butler also hit in the cal league and the texas league.
  7. There's a comment on the reddit post I made asking about jen ho tseng and how close he was to meeting the criteria.
  8. But like you said, the power wasn't there until this year. It makes sense other teams aren't going to see him as a "can't miss DH" until they see a longer track record of him being more than a gigantic OBP-machine. There was always some sort of extenuating circumstance around the power outages. For example, last year it was an injury that made him miss part of the year and regularly saps power for a while when returning. I've always maintained that if there was one thing I wasn't concerned about with Vogelbach it was him eventually tapping into the raw power.
  9. TT has an awesome new front page article looking at the different pitchers in the system to try and find the next Kyle Henricks. Here's a hint...the closest thing to him is on the disabled list right now.
  10. Arrieta will get straightened out and the Cubs will dominate.
  11. You know who else had outperformed his FIP in every year of his career (until 2016)? Shelby Miller. Please don't pay the price for Teheran.
  12. Hot take: They're showcasing Almora for a big trade. (I don't really think so, btw)
  13. I'm very hopeful on the steps that Baez is making. And he's just so damn fun to watch. That said, I'm sure Joe will take great pleasure in rotating everyone through different positions based upon matchups and the desire to keep everyone fresh and focused.
  14. huh, not how I read that at all. But I may have just missed it.
  15. Didnt he have a pretty slow start to the year? He must be kicking some serious ass lately if hes on pace to have his best year. He did. He is.
  16. I wonder how wary this will make other teams (like the Cubs, of course) from making those package deals. That amounts to a huge penalty for the Red Sox. Also, let's scoop up as much of the fallout as we can!
  17. That team also had Thibs.
  18. yes...and no. Splits can be indicative of a particular skill, especially for pitchers. If a guy is able to maintain, for the pertinent example, a platoon split over the course of several years it is probably meaningful. If that is backed up by a mix of pitches that are particularly hard on same-handed or oppo-handed batters, it is even more meaningful. A player doesn't have the be the best guy overall to be the best guy for a particular job.
  19. Apparently someone was attempting a brute force hack on the server this morning. Fun. Just once I'd like an opportunity to kick one of these guys in the nuts as hard as I can.
  20. Now it's wildly alternating between sucking and being fine. Why do these things always happen when I've got other stuff going on?
  21. Working on it. Seems to be much better at the moment.
  22. That's me. I didn't know if I'd be pissing people off posting the same content to both. I've never been much of a redditer. I can't speak to those specific subs...but there's other subs that are similar to each other that get the same content posted by the same poster across all of them. Thanks! Are you the one that messaged me there, too?
