    I don't think he said the other team's contracts part but he definitely said (in spring training?) that they have flexibility to do whatever they need to at the deadline. I think it was a question the media asked after they signed Fowler.

    Fairly clean inning for Hendricks. Other than a question at third, this is one hell of a defensive team today.

    Answer: It isn't. I broke down the results by month, then over the past couple weeks to take a look. Then I dove down into the player stats by month to see who has been driving the results at different times.

    Would people please stop panicking? This team has the best record in baseball because they ARE the best team in baseball. There is no need to trade away great young players to plug holes that aren't really there.

    Who are guys that have big contracts to take on that would even make the littlest bit of sense in terms or being available and also making the needle move for us? Not that I endorse it, but with people willing to take on Chapman, you could bring on Braun. Then use Kyle and Soler to land a top line starter. You're stuck with Braun through 2020

    Isn't one of the central parts of Hoiball to have everyone shoot well from outside? I really haven't paid much attention the past couple years, to be honest. Signing one of my least favorite players in the NBA won't help that at all.

    So I've been looking at everything I can for Jorge the past 30-40 minutes. I see no discernable pattern that drives when he is in a funk vs when he's murdering baseballs. Nothing that is any way predictive on what he will evolve into, anyway.

    I think I need to do an article that explores Soler's value. Gotta get running right now, though.

    Not exactly but the with the continuous expression of concern I just wonder what there is really to be concerned about. Unless the crazy losing continues the only thing we've lost is setting win records. If Arrieta has lost the magic and some of our other pitchers show age, it has implications beyond this season. I highly recommend reading Aaron's front page article on Arrieta to make you feel better there.

    Ninnies. Assuming we don't get even more hurt by injuries than we already have, this team is still going to win 105+ and moonwalk through the second half to the best record in baseball.

    I'll check in on Gameday every once in a while, but I had plans this afternoon anyway. I'll check out with this: after hitting my favorite rookie in the forearm, I hope Thor's elbow explodes around pitch #40 this afternoon.

    Len just announced that Warren starts on Wednesday. Not sure if that was out there yet or not.
