  1. oh, come on. I've never seen that called. His foot was at most millimeters above the bag.
  2. Need to wait to hear how Bryant is doing.
  3. I'm not actually angry with him about it. But it was a much easier play for Bryant.
  4. re: Willson's HR That was only the second time this year that he's pulled a fly ball. They've both been home runs. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/player?player_id=575929&pos=2&player_type=batter#
  5. That was the 2nd play this game where someone was clearly calling for the ball and ran into them. Not Almora's fault, as much as I love Bryant he needs to listen to his CF there. Bryant was pretty much camped under the ball. He just had to drift a bit to his left to get it.
  6. JD pointing out how much Baez is pulling off against right handed pitching.
  7. Not much particularly close, but he didn't go outside the zone.
  8. I mean, I'd bet there's a middle reliever there that I like better than a Cubs guy.
  9. In that "Time to take sides" commercial where they show the Cubs & Sox guys in a split screen, I was trying to figure out what Sox player I'd take over any cubs player at their same position (or rotation sequence) and couldn't come up with a single one.
  10. Left center gap, Bryant only had to drift over to it while Almora was coming full speed. Not a huge collision, but not nothing either. Almora also whacked Bryant in the side of the head pretty hard with his glove. I wouldn't say that Bryant was shaken up, but he took his time getting up.
  11. lol - the ball went right through the legs of Suarez. Then it was great baserunning of everyone to advance.
  12. Didn't look intentional, but that was way inside.
  13. Other than the line drive to Votto to begin the inning, just a bunch of ground balls there. The one from Duvall was hit hard, everything else was pretty soft contact. That actually made it harder to turn the DP attempts.
  14. I'll try to describe anything noteworthy as we go along. My feed usually runs a bit late.
  15. In particular, the amount by which Hendricks is outpitching Cody Reed is fun.
  16. Yes please! Russell ran out after the popup and ran into Bryant while making the catch. He held on and they were both okay. And then there was this gem from JD: The camera shows a guy proposing to a woman and Len gives a bit of play by play on it. JD chimes in with, "so much for Independence Day"
  17. That was almost bad. Anyone following along on gameday needing descriptions of things?
  18. Have I mentioned that Willson might just be my favorite Cub already? Love that kid.
  19. Yeah. This.
  20. I think that every time Willson gets hit, he should hit a home run later in the game. He's on track so far. I wonder if pitchers would stop working him inside.
