  1. My irrational hate for Travis Wood: Justified
  2. Jeff Garland is definitely enjoying the holiday so far, if you know what I mean.

  4. Yup because playoffs are a crapshoot can't. tell. if. serious.
  5. Bryant was nearly stationary.
  6. Geez, I hope you realize how poor their chances are they will win the World Series. Definitely less poor than almost any other year I've been a Cubs fan. It's not that I'm not enjoying this season, but after an NLCS appearance, it will be hard to not be disappointed by not at least making it to the fall classic this time around, no? I'm sure we'll all be disappointed if they lose in the playoffs. There's a huge gulf between that and "At least for myself, anything short of winning the World Series this year is a failed season".
  7. I was wondering if he forgot there were two outs.
  8. Seriously, they could: - Have everyone healthy - Have Jake rediscover god mode - Trade for Jose Bautista, Jose Fernandez, Andrew Miller and Aroldis Chapman And they'd still have a 75% chance of losing in the playoffs.
  9. At least for myself, anything short of winning the World Series this year is a failed season, and I can't see how they pull it off without Bryant AND Schwarber. I'm not watching the game but I assumed since he finished the inning and came off the field somewhat fine, it was a pre-cautionary pull and he'll be day to day at worst. Prepare yourself for like a 75% or better chance of disappointment no matter who is healthy and whom they may acquire at the deadline.
  10. Bryant left with a "lower left leg contusion". Sounds like he just came out because he came out because of the big lead.
  11. Oh, also: Rizzo is still the team's best hitter. Bryant is a better overall player, but Rizzo is still a better hitter. I won't argue that because it might be true. I think losing Bryant would probably lead to our losing the division and having to scratch out a wildcard. This offense has had some real problems as it is scoring against even mediocre pitching losing Bryant just compounds that. Please read my front page article from today. I knew I wrote that for a reason.
  12. Jay Bruce once again with the "I'm playing the Cubs" defense.
  13. Nice watch by Contreras on the 2-1 pitch
  14. I wonder what Rizzo would hit if he used his two strike approach the entire game.
  15. lol...okay Are you kidding? This team can't afford to loose it's best hitter for an extended amount of time. They have been substantially crippled by injury already. Your living in a fantasy world if you think an injury to Bryant wouldn't kill this team. Oh, also: Rizzo is still the team's best hitter. Bryant is a better overall player, but Rizzo is still a better hitter.
  16. Plus, WGN apparently can't afford any decent cameras.

Your living in a fantasy world if you think an injury to Bryant wouldn't kill this team. Even with the recent struggles, they still have an 8 game lead in the division. The rest of the team is still pretty awesome. You'd have to think Bryant is worth something like 20 wins to say it is a lost season without him at this point.
  18. For those not watching. The Cubs had on a shift and Baez flipped the ball to Candelario. He had the ball plenty early and swept his foot over the bag with no more than fractions of an inch of clearance between his foot and the bag. Votto had given himself up and slid 10 feet short of the bag. Once he realized no call had been made at 2B, he got up and ran to the bag. Then he realized nobody was covering third and ran there.
  19. That's a tough thing to call it an "error".
