  1. I mean, I get the desire for another left handed bat. But unless Contreras will be catching nearly full time, I will not be happy about the move.
  2. Anything short of contraction will leave me unsatisfied.
  3. I'd do that too. I'd rather it be Baez than Schwarb, if possible somehow, but I'd do it. I would not do that. I just don't trust Sale to hold up long enough to make it worth giving up that much.
  4. That seems like a touch much way too little for what the Cards deserve.
  5. confused why this is here
  6. So, to get this straight, the Cubs have added Matusz and Montgomery so far this season and it has (maybe) only cost them Vogelbach to do so? Yeah, I like our front office.
  7. low to mid 90's fb, four pitch mix, all three of his offspeed pitches (cut, curve, change) are positive value
  8. "dominating" may be a bit of a stretch, but he'd be a solid add.
  9. Yeah, I think the Mets are being exposed, too. The dodgers/giants get one wwildcard spot for certain. I guess it is a four team race for the other. St Louis, if healthy, should have the edge, imo
  10. The cards losing carp and moss for an extended period of time hurts them a lot. The pirates really need cole at 100℅, and taillon and Glasgow to be very good immediately.l iriano also needs to get his horsefeathers together for them to have any real chance. Oh yeah, cutch has to be cutch, too
  11. Pittsburgh is not as good as they were looking before the break.
  12. Yeah, pretty much where I'm at.
  13. Just search for me calling people ninnies and see who I was replying to.
  14. With this deal, I'm praying that we can use Underwood as the lead piece for Rich Hill. Oh, say that one more time...but slower and at a whisper. You get him that cheap and my dream of a Teheran, Hill, Gonzalez/Reddick deadline inches forward. Uh...which two starters are you taking out of the rotation?
  15. Yeah, I'm prett meh on Espinoza. Kopech is where it's at and even then [expletive] pitching prospects. I am, OTOH, glad the Cubs did not trade for Pomeranz at this point in time. Overall I expect the Red Sox win the deal, but I would want the Cubs to land someome much more tested. With this deal, I'm praying that we can use Underwood as the lead piece for Rich Hill.
  16. Kind of have to protect Underwood here. Unless he's completely cooked, can't really risk some rebuilding team stashing him at the end of the pen and/or the DL. Only others I'd really protect are Caratini, Paulino, and Pena. Not sure what to make of Rivero. He's been consistent for some years now, but the fact that he's never even entered into the big league discussion makes me wonder. I could see Blackburn and/or Zaz selected, and while you hate to lose cheap rotation depth when you don't have much to begin with, you can't protect everyone. Radamacher could be used as a trade throw in, or he could be selected and become maybe Brandon Guyer. Or not. Without checking his splits, there's a pretty good chance Zaz (I like the nickname) becomes a serviceable pen lefty.
  17. Will do. Remind me tonight if it isn't done by then. Busy day at work today.
  18. Which one? The interview or the clip before the break. I can't tell. Hosmer loudly bragging to Ned Yost after that home run, "we've been here before, we've been on the big stage before" While the entire AL team just glared Gotcha. It was all pretty bad, so I couldn't tell which part.
  19. Which one? The interview or the clip before the break. I can't tell.
  20. He looks like a SD picture being stretched to widescreen.
  21. lol - I was about to post a "holy crap is he short" post, then Altuve walks past at the same height.
