Like cyber attacks or just trolls? cyber attacks. I don't think we saw any trolls post. Well except our own. Yeah, the site was just getting all kinds of strange traffic during the games. Some of what I was able to identify was just people reading misery porn. There were a bunch of hits from St Louis, for example, during the 6-8th innings yesterday. But there were also times that I was able to see a lot of "threads" popping up in memory on the server that looked like they were just completely random hits on old topics & such. A lot of that traffic wasn't showing up on Google Analytics, which wasn't showing many hits to those topics. So as the games were going along, I had the process manager running the whole time and I was killing any suspicious looking queries. At one point, I removed access to the archives because it takes so much more processing on that database.

I'm telling you. Can't remember the last time I saw a blink of an eye momentum pillage like that. And by the time the bottom of the 9th rolled around, they were only down by a run, but their souls were too broken to care. It's almost like "momentum" in baseball isn't a thing. Almost.

Since rookie ball, when he said he would do whatever the horsefeathers he wants to do. Damn I wish the board hadn't eaten this thread. I know I posted a thread with this quote as the title in like 2014. on the front page there's a link to the archives with every post since about 2005 or so
