  1. Montero cannot catch up to a good fastball to save his life at this point.
  2. I'm in the same situation. I have a full stack and I keep looking at them and then directing my attention back to this nonsense waiting for something to happen. I guess I'm going to get started.
  3. I hadn't. What did he/say do to indicate this? I'm out of the loop on this one. In a nutshell, He said that he something along the lines of...he doesn't agree with the gay lifestyle but that doesn't mean he would not accept and get to know a gay person. He is a devout Christian and is of the viewpoint that homosexuality is wrong, but says that one should dislike the action but still love the person.
  4. Cubs have swept the Mets this season. Keep it going and end this series in 4 games.
  5. The Rangers players look as defeated and down spirited as the 03 team did. Just lifeless.
  6. Damn...this inning has been absolute hell for the Rangers.
  7. Man, WHAT are you watching...he is actually about 3/4 of the way down the line by the time the ump waves for time. You must have some heartfelt sympathy toward the Blue Jays or something. Um, no. He was about halfway, but my point is that it doesn't matter because the umps can't award home plate after a time out. It's like an inadvertant whistle in football. If a ref blows a play dead, a team could pick up a fumble and run it back for a TD and it wouldn't matter. A dead ball is a dead ball. Where are you getting that rule from? This is not football. How can an ump call 'time' in the middle of a live ball? If a batter hits a double to the wall, and is 3/4 of the way to second the ump cannot just call 'time' and tell the runner to go back to first base. Even if the second baseman has fallen and broke his leg the ball can't just be dead in the middle of live action when a runner is 3/4 of the way to a base without any valid interference to make to ball dead.

  9. There was NO WAY he was going to be thrown out... he was already in motion towards home and more than halfway there. There was no chance for anyone to get to the ball before he reached home. They got the call right.
  10. I was in the ER all afternoon and evening because I though tore my calf muscle playing football with my students during recess. On the way, I told my wife to stop by the house and get my tablet so I could stream the game on the Watch TBS app because there was no way I was missing this. I was in waiting room going nuts with every pitch. I'll be on crutches for a while but I couldn't be happier!
  11. It's not just you...seems like he is almost an automatic strike out lately. If he is not going to hit, might as well play Ross for defense.
  12. This is the best one from earlier this year as Alvarez blasts one into the Alleghany that lands directly in a boat. http://m.mlb.com/video/topic/11493214/v122401983/must-c-crushed-alvarez-homers-out-of-pnc-into-boat Just like The Logan said, TBS is horrible. The worst postseason coverage of any major sport that I can recall.
  13. Definitely wasn't Buehrle's decision. He is on record stating that he wanted to pitch in the playoffs. The Jays went with a four man rotation and Buehrle was the odd man out and left off the ALDS roster.
  14. Joe Torre trying to be PC right now but basically admitting the slide was illegal and the umpires missed the call.
  15. I love it, Pedro's got me laughing my ass off. I'm on the floor off that one.
  16. That throw is not what caused Tejada to miss the bag. The bag was easily in his reach and he could have extended his leg another inch to touch the base. The only reason he didn't was because he had to avoid Utley and turn two. That is the very definition of the neighborhood play. What a blown call.
  17. It would be poetic justice if Wilmer Flores ends up raking at the plate for the rest of this series and he ends up being the reason the Mets win it. That and if Utley takes a fastball right in the ribs of course.
  18. Ron Darling finally makes a good point..."They wouldn't even allow that in the NFL." Then he follows it up with a db comment "I don't think there was any intent." What the hell?
  19. David Wright with the stare of death into the L.A. dugout.
  20. Don't these dumb assess now about the neighborhood play at second base?
  21. Not even trying to look like he's going for the bag.
  22. If Hammel goes his max outing should be 4 innings. Then let the bullpen handle it the rest of the way instead of waiting for his traditional 5th inning implosion.
