  1. Today's wardrobe: Black dress slacks and a light blue polo. Thanks for bring that up.
  2. It's going to be a long year for him.. Until July!
  3. So how much are they asking for a Sox or a Cubs spot this year?
  4. 98, Please provide evidence of your assertions. Please show me where I can find the cost for an ad during a Sox game vs. that for a Cubs game. Until that is done, you are simply speculating. 98navigator wrote: White Sox games were more popular than Cubs telecasts last season (for the first time in over 20 years); the net effect is that during the 2007 season, WGN can make more advertising dollars for Sox broadcasts. 98navigator wrote: The advertising money is based on ratings (which gets to my original point about WGN making a profit on Sox games). Overall, the Sox had higher ratings in 2006 thus, the network will have the luxury of charging more per ad during Sox games in 2007 (than they can charge for Cubs games).
  5. Not taking sides, but you really haven't provided any evidence to support your claim that the slightly higher ratings will actually equal higher profits for WGN. It was a more than slightly. In advertsing, rating are key. Both Nielsen and Arbitron show the Sox won the ratings battle in the most desired age demographic. Again, no evidence there are differences in rates, just an assumption. OK... Are you contending that the ad rates for each team are directly tied to television and radio ratings only for the prior season and nothing else? If so, how do you know this? Go back and read what I wrote. 98, are you seriously this dense? You made an assesrtion, and then when questioned on it said that others should find evidence to disprove your point. Seems backwards to me.

  7. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/images/2005/04/20/rlyNzRhi.jpg Still miss him? Absolutely. You apparently ignored his performance last year. Not to mention he's the epitomy of class and a likeable guy. Agreed, the day the Cubs traded for him was the happiest I have been about the Cubs since they beat Atlanta in the NLDS. He is pretty much like Wood, even injured for a whole season I wanted them back with the Cubs the next season regardless. Might not be a good idea, but owell. Which happened the previous fall, lol.
  8. I hit that buttom at least 300 times a few weeks ago, never pulled in a top three.
  9. Trade your good players to me.
  10. This is Chicago, shouldn't we be casting ballots from the cemetary as well?
  11. I've taken the liberty of highlighting the parts of your argument that don't have any argumentative weight. His salary as compared to yours and mine, options for other players, and your frustration at the failure of his body to hold up doesn't have anything to do with the issue at hand. Yes, it sucks Wood is hurt. However, this isn't 2004. He was slated to be a late inning reliever. Losing him for a couple weeks isn't going to hurt the team, and the fact he's making-what, $1.5m?-isn't going to hinder the team. We paid Wade Miller just about as much to do nothing last year. Resigning Kerry was a gamble, and I wouldn't be so quick as to label it a failure because he's had 2 arm-related setbacks before April. And for the record, even if he doesn't throw another pitch this season, it was a gamble worth taking with the small amount of money he's getting. (A couple weeks? I think we all know better.) It was a gamble worth taking if it was going to pay off. There's no reason to give this guy a roster spot if he cannot get through spring training, especially given his history. And doesn't that $1.5 million make him easier to release? Why release him though? The money is a sunk cost. If he is on the DL, how is that worse than being off the team?
  12. Yeah, because MLB umpires never miss any calls. They didn't miss this call, so I'm not clear on what point you're trying to make. You were defending your position by saying "If he did something wrong, then why wasn't he called out for interference?" My point was pretty easy and clear. That was an ignorant argument to use to make that point. Just because an MLB ump didn't call him out, doesn't mean squat. MLB umps miss calls all of the time. I've yet to see a single game called with no errors. That should have been pretty obvious. The umps didn't miss *this* call. Therefore I see no reason for you to point out that umpires sometimes make mistakes. That statement is equal parts irrelevant and obvious. Now if you want to make the case that Furcal did in fact commit interference on the play in question, well, good luck with that argument. You're missing the point. He was not using the "umpires make mistakes" line to support his own argument. It was used to show your latest point was invalid. You said, paraphrasing, "If the umps didn't make the call, the interference did not occur." That logic is simply untrue.
  13. Utah. And......
  14. Lakers and Jazz have too.
  15. I thought about it-that's actually why I didn't pick Butler in the second round. ODU is a quality squad, but I think Butler will have something to prove today. Ihave ODU over Butler and Maryland.
  16. Is this official yet or what, Jeesh.
  17. Your current position in line is: NaN Ok, you don't have to chill.
  18. Guys, seriously chill. I logged in 10 mintes ago, was number 105,000. I move up about 4-7,000 spots every 30 seconds. I am already in.

  21. Why are yousurprised AJ would do it? My brother was driving along 294 yesterday, said there are a ton of Sox billboards, with AJ in the most by far.
  22. Extra day, more rest, more power, less sink.
  23. He's still a bust, but he's been having a solid year with Orlando, I believe. Good win tonight. Relatively easy four game stretch coming up with 2 against Boston, 1 against Philly, and 1 against Memphis. He is the Sam Bowie to DWade's Jordan. except that Wade was picked 5th, not 3rd (that was Carmelo). I think his point stands.
  24. I'll be there tomorrow, hooray for St. Patricks Days shirts! Related, I will be unable to go to the game on 3/20, can anybody use my tickets? PM me.
