  1. Exactly.
  2. I said I loved Russell in my post. Why does having Russell mean it's okay to accept less than fair value for Castro?
  3. for the phillies Man this [expletive] is like the cult of Orton but for Castro. [expletive]. Not even remotely. Your opinion of Castro's value is way off. You have to be kidding me. People generally either way over value him like you, or way undervalue him, (ie he sucks because he doesn't hit 25 home runs a year). Few people get it right, he's a good young player with value that is nearly immediately replaceable. I think you have a misconception of his value for a few reasons. IMO, you are greatly exaggerating the ease at which Castro's on-field value could be replaced. I love Russell, but it's a bit silly to assume any prospect is guaranteed to be a top-10 player at their position in the big leagues (Castro is 10th in fWAR among shortstops entering today). Then, when you consider his age, possible (maybe even likely) improvement in performance going forward, and especially his contract, I think it leaves you way off target. That contract is really the biggest part of the whole thing, it provides pretty awesome surplus value, which is an enormous factor when discussing trade value. Hamels is a good pitcher, but I would be willing to bet you could get a younger or better one for Castro, that's what it comes down to for me. Why would you settle for Hamels if you are trading Castro? You could trade for Hamels without giving up an established MLB player on a dirt cheap deal, Theo and Jed have the pieces to make it happen.

  5. Keith had Bryant #1 in his most recent rankings.
  6. I so badly want him to be a monster in the majors.
  7. The Cubs might trade for Hamels, but it shouldn't and almost certainly won't involve Castro.
  8. Baez has so much swagger. He just belongs, damn.
  9. I fell asleep on the couch after the Cubs scored in the 11th thinking there would be no more Javy ABs. Woke up shortly after to see Len and JD signing off and a reply of the home run. Son of a bitch. PS we are all too old on this board. Fell asleep and woke up to the end of the top of the 12th with them showing a Baez replay.
  10. Bryce Harper owns, he's just been injury prone. Don't forget how young he still is. If Baez is as good as him, we are very lucky.
  11. I don't think you would. Chapman use to box quite a bit in Cuba. used* /pet peeve
  12. $10.5 million per year.
  13. These are the top 10 minor league player searches on Fangraphs right now: Addison Russell Javier Baez Kris Bryant Arismendy Alcantara Joey Gallo Kyle Schwarber Tsuyoshi Wada Jorge Soler Billy McKinney Albert Almora So close.
  14. No way. I'd want significantly more for Castro. ETA: Unless you are saying top 10 overall, not organizational. Even then, idk if I would do it.
  15. If that doesn't scream hipster I'm a monkey's uncle. That's not actually Parks.
  16. Home: .355/.401/.600 .373 BABIP Away: .254/.403/.705 .296 BABIP [expletive] hell. Yeah, that's wrong. Eta: Unless he was listing the time period he was talking about and not the whole season. For the year it's: Home: .355/.401/.600 Away: .264/.309/.417
  17. 4 pitches per plate appearance is really good.
  18. At 94...damn. Sucks he's pretty much as good as gone.
  19. Most here care more about what he says than what you do.
  20. Lol, Olt is really showing his inexperience in this interview.
  21. He's a primadonna because he doesn't want to accept less money than he's worth? He's a primadonna because he thinks he worth more than he can get. Many not the right descriptor for him, but he seems to have an inflated sense of worth. I'm not saying I blame him. The Cubs are kind of low-balling him.
  22. Pic or it didn't happen. On my Facebook already, but I value my privacy more than your opinion, sorry man.
