  1. I wouldn't go that far, yet. Well, they are. I disagree, they really aren't. They have a much better offense and our pitching staff has Mrquis and Dmepster in it. They are better. I don't think that any other group of fans even posses the shortsightedness of Cubs fans. No they aren't better than us, I disagree. I wonder if the Brewers were flipping out last year when we beat them 2 out of 3 in the first 3 we played against them. Cubs fans are the masters of being over dramatic. How about we make a bet? I bet you that the Cubs will make the playoffs AND have a better record than the Brewers. I really don't feel like betting. If I am right I really doubt you would want to wager enough to make me feel good about it. Plus I am like days away from having a kid and don't really want to lose a large sum either. No thanks. Just for bragging rights, for fun. No cash.
  2. That is very definitely not "typical Cubs". sure it is. it happened all the time last year. runners on but never driving them in. now Wuertz is sucking too. SWEET I don't know what your definition of "all the time" is, but the Cubs biggest problem is now, and has been for a very long time, a lack of baserunners. And today, the Cubs are OBPing .304, while Milwaukee is at .367. One is horrible, one is terrific. OMG REALLY OH GOD, WELL NOW THAT YOU HAVE SAID THAT I'M GOING TO HIDE, YOU WIN. one freakin game

  4. We should give up on the season, just like I'm sure all the Tigers fans are.

  6. Like you want to hug men and eat McDonald's?
  7. The problem is, the Brewers a year older and a year better, and are less likely to colapse as bad as they did last year, and with Dempster on the mound tommorow, a sweep is likely, and thats giving these guys a lot of momentum. Momentum in baseball is a joke. Very true, it doesn't exist.
  8. He stole it off Hart, not Soto. Soto wasn't the problem although he really is looking poopy.
  9. The key is. If this continues like this, Lou will make changes. I sure hope so, that's the only hope I have with Lou. Even when he said that he wants a fixed lineup I don't believe him, Lou contradicts himself in a good way a good amount of time. For example, last year Lou decided that he was going to move Dempster to the rotation and by the end of the day convinced himself to change his mind. I still don't know understand why nearly every single knowledgeable Cubs fan could write out a better lineup than Lou though. He doesn't seem to understand that giving your worst hitter the most plate appearances is not a good thing. If every one of us could tell by now that Theriot sucks, how is it that the guy getting paid 3 million bucks can't? Also why is it that the bad things have to happen before anything gets changed? Is it asking too much for dumb, and even blatantly dumb, decisions to just not be made in the first place? Wow, I just went from backing Lou to completely turning on him within the same post. Ugghhh I guess I'm just frustrated but I still think Lou needs to wise up.
  10. Dusty Piniella? Lou Baker? Why is it that we always fall in love with our managers after their first successful season only to realize that they make TONS of awful mistakes? Marquis + Dempster over Lieber/Marshall/Gallagher? Really? Theriot isn't a hole, heck he's a borderline All-Star. Really? Dome batting 5th, Soriano batting 2nd? Really? Theriot batting leadoff? Oh sorry, Theriot in the starting lineup? Gahh, my bad, Theriot on a major league roster? Really? Niiiiiice!!! This guy is a smart one. Oh yeah, he's also not willing to give Pie time to adjust and has probably convinced himself that Johnson's upgrade over Pie offensively (and I don't even know if he really is an offensive upgrade anyway) is worth more than Pie's upgrade over Johnson defensively. Another note, the speed on that ball just hit by Theriot was approaching 50 miles per hour, he's really hitting some frozen ropes.
  11. Let's take out the guy who hit a gapper double, not our 1 for 7 short stop piece of suckageness.
  12. It looked as if it hit him in the lower ribs though, those ribs are weaker than the upper ribs and getting hit there does hurt, so I think it wasn't too ridiculous. Although you would think his fat would be enough padding.
  13. I know people are sick of hearing it...but...ho much better would this lineup look with DeRo at SS, Roberts at 2B and leading off, Fuku batting second, and Soriano batting 5th. The Cubs never like doing things that make sense. Roberts (2B) Fukudome (RF) Lee (1B) Ramirez (3B) Soriano (LF) DeRosa (SS) Soto © Pie (CF) or swap Pie and Soto. Either way, that lineup is damn good.
  14. ...and is single handedly beating the Cubs.
  15. Cedeno over Theriot, plz. Sitting in the bleachers for this one. Win please, Cubs Everyday! +1
  16. BP on the Cubs (the number is their NL ranking) 2. Chicago Cubs (94-68, 795 RS, 677 RA). The Cubs don’t have a leadoff hitter, so adding Brian Roberts would be worth a bit more than the models suggest. The switch-hitter with OBP would really help a lineup that lists to the right side. As good as the 2003 and 1998 teams were, this is the best Cubs team in a very long time. They’ll score, they’ll strike out a bunch of guys, and the defense is pretty good. The Cubs aren’t just NL Central good; the Cubs are MLB good.
  17. I love it when we bat our two worst obp players 1 and 2
  18. RYAN THERIOT STOP PLAYING MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL, I HATE YOU
