  1. Good god does he have an eating disorder?
  2. I wouldn't even need to "predict" it. I know it would happen.
  3. wrong. lol you sure showed him Greatest argument of all time. I find myself, even as a mod, unable to resist it's lure. *Feeling defeated, EJ crawls back into his hole* I was just messin around. Geez people. Not formulating strong debate arguments.
  4. wrong. lol you sure showed him lol I sure was trying to.
  5. Cedeno's clearly not going to get a chance. Might as well trade him. Knee-jerk much? Seriously.
  6. I hope we get some word on how he's feeling today.
  7. You'd think time would soften the feelings, instead, watching lou do the right things in managing the pitching staff makes me even more incensed daily.
  8. This thread went from hopeful to depressing in about 3.2 seconds.
  9. Don't lie to yourself vance. There's a small part of you that has your hopes up for what our pen could be if he came back blazing (not blazed). It's inevitable. You're a Cubs fan.
  10. Bingo. I point to that game as the reason we didn't win the pennant. someone try to find a dumber managerial move than that one. you cant. The collective/aggregate useage of Prior, Wood, and Zambrano in 2003.
  11. I don't know, Woody is pretty sexy. I do have a man-crush on him. DeRosa's his replacement til he comes back. This is another example of why I love the guy.  I disagree, Wood's career has a Sturm und Drang quality that is undeniable. :?: I'm not cultured enough to know that reference. Explanation?
  12. good call. That really gets under your skin, doesn't it. Sorry dude, I say what I feel. It was looking real bad at the time. So I was wrong, I'm a big boy I can take it. Can you? Clearly it's your skin, I'm getting under. I'm happy our team won. And contrary to earlier this year, even if we're losing by one in the 8th, I think we're gonna win. Think what you want, I just thought it was a good call. Never underestimate the overwhelming power of good, solid pessimism among the fan base of a professional sports franchise. I start with pessimism then move towards hope (where I am now) and end in heart crushing defeat (2003 NLCS, 2007 Superbowl). Nothing like getting your heart torn out after an extended period of hope. But in all honesty, I don't think this team is gonna play many more games that they SHOULD win. It's gonna happen from time to time, but I don't expect it anymore. And that's a DAMN good feeling. :D

  14. How many times does this happen to me, but I still get excited thinking about watching Woody in a cubs uniform? Even though I should no better. There's something romantic (not sexual, romantic as in romanticism) about it. Am I the only one?
  15. There are worse crimes than giving up a homer into the basket on a 3-2 pitch while you're getting squeezed by the umpire. To the most prolific home run hitter in history.
  16. Your post is a moronic idiot. Right when he brought Ohman in I said "Oh no, not Will Ohman." I think he should have left Wuertz in and thought that before Ohman served up the longball. And Ohman struck him out. Can't blame him for the umps not calling strikes. Butterfly effect. On the first one it was 1-1 count and the ball made it 2-1. If that first borderline pitch gets called a strike, Bonds wouldn't have taken the second borderline pitch. Ohman screwed it up. He gets the blame. And those weren't guaranteed strikes either. The first one was close, the second one was inside. Whatever you say. http://img73.imageshack.us/img73/3532/barryshitmz9.png And that's why we don't trust Gameday to tell us what are balls and strikes. I don't need Gameday, I'm watching with my own eyes.

  19. What exactly do we have to do to stop this talk? You'd think winning 27 out of our last 40 would be good enough. It's a game thread, what do you care? You're telling me what to post now? Get over yourself. Do what you want, I'm not telling you anything. Post that there are purple elephants running around wrigley for all I care. I'm just wondering what it will take from this team for it to stop.
