  1. Edit: NM, I'm done with Neifi threads. Bash away.
  2. You guys are ALL wrong. It was all me. At the LAST minute, I decided to bench Murton and Start Betemit as my utility guy, and of course, Betemit went 0-4 while Murton went 1-2 with 2 RBI, 1 Run, and a .750 OBP.
  3. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. He sucks in much bigger ways than that. I don't mind seeing a little attitude with our players even the sucky ones.
  4. they feel good, but I wish we would win about 6 in a row EASILY my heart cant take this We should have picked tonight to watch the game  Would have been fun.
  5. Why would you do that There's a very delicate mojo at work here Just joking around, I'll edit it.
  6. I just don't get it. The Cubs were frustrated by Corey's inability to be a more selective hitter, so naturally they go out and get a more EXPENSIVE, OLDER version of Corey. I just don't get it. I would prefer Burnitz to Jones. Jim Hendry = No Offseason Plan. Again. Funny. It seems like he at least put together one of the best bullpens in baseball, if nothing else. and a good bullpen is what % of a complete team? Listen, he had a plan. It might have not worked completely, and it might not have been the exact same one you or wastra might have wanted...but for some around here it's like pulling teeth to give Hendry ANY credit. And it gets old. so far his bullpen moves look good. but building a good pen and doing only that isn't anything to get all excited about. also, you say he 'had a plan' as if that alone deserves credit. i'm confused by that. I think that people will agree with you that his offensive plan was crap. However his bullpen plan has been great. So people think that announcing hendry had no plan is a little disingenious. That being said - your points regarding the offense hold alot of merit.
  7. Does anyone else feel that with wins like these, we could just explode on a run when Woody and Prior come back?
  8. I just don't get it. The Cubs were frustrated by Corey's inability to be a more selective hitter, so naturally they go out and get a more EXPENSIVE, OLDER version of Corey. I just don't get it. It seems like he at least put together one of the best bullpens in baseball, if nothing else. and a good bullpen is what % of a complete team? It's given us more than a couple wins this season. Look at the Marlins tonight. Offense, starting pitching, and defense are good to great. One arm loses the game for them. He walked them into a loss. The mismanagement of the pen by Girardi is as much to blame as the one pitcher who get rocked in the 8th. He didn't have a Lefty, so I don't know how much was up to him.
  9. Last I heard is that he does it weekly.
  10. Actually Prior was suppose to throw a 40 pitch side sesion today, Wood threw yesterday. No word on how the Prior sesion went today, yet anyway Erin Andrews said it went well - with no pain from either of them. I got the days wrong in point 1 - I thought they were both yesterday. 40 pitches I believe is what she said, but I was too busy staring at her ... um... teeth.
  11. 1) Both are apparently pain free - maybe wood was preoccuppied with Acosta 2) Both threw on Sunday and both will throw on Wed. 3) Rothschild maybe tore into them according to ESPN saying he was sick of answer questions aobut their injuries and they they need to get back and pitch. Maybe a little tough love.
  12. How many did we have last year? Fred? Wins like tonight are HUGE for the morale of this team especially after scuffling for so long despite Z's keeping them in the game. People stepping up, Juan with a huge hit, huge walks in the 8th, Pierre's speed making Cabrera rush his throw home on Arams chopper, Murt's patience and Jones stepping up. These are all positive things that hopefully this team can build on. I don't like Dusty at all, but it seems like he gets his players not to give up, so maybe he is a good motivator (though a bad manager).
  13. That isn't the point. That statement Jim Hendry = No Offseason Plan is categorically false in everyway. He had bad (Neifi, Rusch) to questionable (Jones) moves in his plan, but his assembly of this bullpen means we wont lose many games we are leading after the 6th inning.
  14. And getting nailed by eyre with pies.
  15. After the HR vs. the Cards and this HR vs Marlins, I may start developing Love for Jones.
  16. Nomahhhhhhhhhhh goes granny on Lidge and the Dodgers should pull it out!
  17. I think his HR against ST. Louis did that. 2 HUGE HR's. @ Dusty getting pumped.
  18. Neifi strike out. I need a Dempster Save!
  19. I didn't start him that's why he did well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
