  1. Thanks buddy. You know, we just got a bad draw this year. We had a first-round cakewalk, but now we get stuck against the most legendary band of all-time. What can ya do? Our horses were there, we just didn't get the breaks, dude. What can ya do dude? Seriously, tough draw for the Pumpkins, they are better than a lot of the bands still left in this tournament.
  2. And iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii have become, comfortably numb.
  3. I didn't realize the Reds were giving away free good players today.
  4. He's right, the team's problems go beyond the dugout, but lack of patience at the plate is a testament to the coaching staff more than anything, IMO.
  5. i didnt like Billy's solo stuff as much as his early SP work oh and they should start touring around Novermber from what i hear. I don't either, but IMO, Billy's solo stuff is still solid.
  6. what didn't you like about Californication, i can understand BTW since it turned off alot of people, but Californication was one of their better albums in my mind. I don't know, I don't like hate it or anything, it's just not one of my favorites. Scar Tissue is excellent, but other than that, nothing on that really catches my interest.
  7. Oh god, my favorite band of all-time is seeded lower than one of my least favorite of all-time. Thank God it's not even close. I remember the first time I heard the Smashing Pumpkins. My friend was listening to Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness on the bus and he let me listen. I fell in love. I borrowed that 2CD album and rocked out to it for days, taping it to a cassette before giving it back. Then I found Adore, Gish, and the beautiful Siamese Dream. 7 years later, I'm still obsessed. I have exactly 500 of their songs (live, covers, bootlegs, demos, released, unreleased, etc.) on my computer, including some greats like the Mashed Potatoes Box Set, Billy's Gravity Demos, MCIS Demos, the final show at the Metro, the show before at the UC, tons of stuff. This band got me through lots of hard times, and I've never forgiven myself for not seeing them live. Thankfully, I should get another chance. I still think Machina is one of the most underrated albums of all-time. It's definitely not their best, but the replay value is fantastic. Tons of great songs on there. Also, if you like their solo work, Melissa Auf Der Maur's solo album, "Auf Der Maur" is solid, and James Iha's "Let It Come Down" is absolutely fantastic. Billy's "The Future Embrace" is also solid, but his unreleased song "Tilt" is probably better than anything else on the CD. I've never listened to Jimmy Chamberlain's "Life Begins Again," but I'm trying to get ahold of it. Anyways, I'm rambling, I apologize.
  8. The White Stripes are so so so good, and Aerosmith is so so so overrated.
  9. RHCP, definitely. Minus Californication and By The Way, everything else they have put out has been nothing short of great. Easy vote.
  10. Pearl Jam, definitely. Green Day sucks, minus Dookie.
  11. Nothings really "great" about him, but he does have the ability to get on base and hit for power that would be nice to see on this team. Interestingly, both this year and last hes had horrendous Mays that have really hurt his #s. The astros may be able to use Nevin to platoon with Lamb. Nevin alone wont get Lane, but there might be a match. He has a .330 OBP this year, .328 for his career. That's not very good at all for a corner OF, this year it would be 19th of 22 RFs or 17th of 20 LFs if he had the at bats to qualify. He'll be 30 in December and isn't hitting for any power this year. We could do much better than Lane, I'm not even sure he's appreciably better than Murton. Yeesh. I didn't realize that.
  12. What do you think it would take to get Lane? Guzman? Nevin? Ryu? Williams? Williamson? I dunno, just throwing names around. I'd love to land Lane.
  13. I really enjoy Phil Collins, and Peter Gabriel, so this is easy for me.
  14. It's getting to the point where I am no fun anymore, I am sorry. Sometimes it hurts so badly I must cry out loud, ‘I am lonely.' I am yours, you are mine, you are what you are, you make it hard. I love that song. One of my favorites of all-time.
  15. I love southern rock, so Skynyrd was an easy pick for me. That and I cannot stand Van Halen.
  16. Don't you love her madly, Don't you need her badly Don't you love her ways, Tell me what you say Don't you love her madly, Wanna be her daddy Don't you love her face Don't you love her as she's walkin' out the door Like she did one thousand times before That is all.
  17. Show him what he's won! http://images.rottentomatoes.com/images/movie/coverv/77/164077.jpg
  18. Agreed, if it counts, then take the 25-30 best players, and I want to see people bunting, throwing inside pitches, running over catchers, etc. None of this every team gets a representative crap.
