  1. Aaron [expletive] Miles just hit a 3 run HR.
  2. You mean Dempster and Wood? I don't want Lilly around longer than his contract.
  3. That's what I imagine would happen if they re-signed Dempster. Pay Marquis to finish out his contract elsewhere (aka trade him to a team needing an innings eater). But they won't get anyone to take all of Marquis' salary unless Littlefield gets another GM job. Also, for those worried about what re-signing Dempster would do to the ability to re-sign Harden, you can do the same thing with his contract with Lilly coming off the books after 09. I was thinking about this earlier. If Hill gets it all together, I wouldn't mind trying to move both Marquis and Lilly this offseason to free up some money and go with a rotation of Z, Harden, Hill, Dempster, and Marshall next year with Gaudin able to step in if needed.
  4. I'd give him something like 3/30M, but not much more.
  5. So is he going to Iowa for sure for his next start?
  6. I can't watch the Press Conference, but it was reported a few days ago that he's had a blister.
  7. Harden was great. I'd like to see him do a better job being more economical with his pitches. He was up near 100 in the 6th and got pulled. He had 10Ks and I believe 3 BBs so that's a big reason why his PC was so high. Marmol was horrible. He needs time off. He didn't get hit incredibly hard, but his control was all over the place. Theriot is not the WORST defensive shortstop in the league, but he is pretty bad. Below average. Harden was very economical until his last inning or so. He was in the 50s after 4 innings.
  8. ESPN.com sucks http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/1984/picture1nv6.png
  9. Do you think he's stupid or something? Lou? When it comes to the pen, I absolutely do.
  10. Wouldn't Wilson be the losing pitcher? And Marshall the winner. Fred jumped the gun a bit earlier ;)
  11. I've got no problem with them booing a pitcher who has sucked for a month and gave up a 5 run lead in the 9th.
  12. This is completely unbelievable. What was Lou thinking.
  13. See? This is what I'm talking about. Harden pitches lights out in his debut, but the national media can't help themselves but to paint it with storm clouds looming overhead. Suck it losers. And what is even more ridiculous is how Sabathia's start was considered to be so amazing when he really was mediocre at best. Harden hung zeros and he won't get the same type of recognition just because ESPN has a picture of the Cubs pre-painted. You have to be joking. We have been praised all year by ESPN. Face it, we have been media darlings this year. I don't really agree. We haven't been getting bashed but I don't think we're the "darlings." The media is just all about the Cubs because it's been 100 years.
  14. I'm just popping in to say that I'm glad to see Edmonds do something again, I look forward to Soriano coming back so Kosuke can get more time off with DeRo/Johnson in RF, Rich Harden is a God, and I've got a big pan of crow on the stove re: Mike Fontenot.
  15. So I had a dream last night that Harden went 6 innings, gave up 1 run... and then left with elbow discomfort :?
