    GameDay has his fastball anywhere between 88 and 93. He's shown he can switch up his velocity very easily. I'm not expecting him to hit 95 every time.

    what a selfless act it is to sacrifice his own dream of winning a superbowl for a virtual feather in his cap. i really hope this new contract assures his continued cooperation with the media and openness with the fans who have helped make him the face of the bears franchise. he's such a thoughtful person, kudos to you, brian, you steaming pile of excrement. i hope age doesn't begin to restrict your amazing ability to shed blocks.     So is it better to sell to brick-and-mortar stores instead? If not, where does the high book value come from? Book value esentially is Beckett. However, Beckett is not really highly regarded by devoted card collectors. So, while you could use beckett to help gage a price, most people will look to Ebay past sales for a more accurate price. Beckett claims to do a market analysis of some sort(with past Ebay sales included in that analysis), but recently they were caught putting cards up on Ebay themselves at listings which far exceeded their own pricings. This outraged many collectors and has further turned off collectors from Beckett. Although, even those colectors who do not like Beckett will sometimes admit to buying the magazine because they want to read the articles. Just like Playboy.

    I've been more than critical of him this year, but the past month or two he's really turned it on. When Soriano comes back, it'll be nice to have DeRo be able to give Lee, Ram, Soriano, or Fukudome some time off and have Fontenot be able to step in and give us some production. I'd really love it if he could figure out SS to a point where he's adequate enough to put there so we can give Theriot a day off every now and then and keep some production in the lineup instead of the black hole that is Ronny Cedeno.

    That's a good fit for the Illinois offense. I know Mizzou was after him too, but the Illini offense is probably a better fit, and he'd have fewer guys in between him and playing time. Terry Hawthorne, a WR from East St. Louis(Rivals 18th best WR, Scout 57th), also committed to U of I this weekend. I see discipline problems in his future.

    You're right! They will be sitting home come playoff time: IE not going anywhere. Maybe they will be, but they are going to be fighting for a playoff spot all year long.

    Why? Only the runner on third matters. You're forcing your pitcher to throw strikes. If he gets behind, as we saw, the pitcher is forced to throw a meatball. There is no margin for error if you get behind. If you get behind and it's 1st and 3rd, you can still nibble/try to get them to chase out of the zone to get them out.
