That's the fallacy. Todd Walker has a .348 career OBP. He's clearly the best 2b we have on the team. Over the long term, he's the guy that has to get the overwhleming majority of the bats. But baseball is still a game played by people who go into hot streaks and cold streaks over the course of a season. Walker's not a coin that flip and always has a .348 chance of getting on base. It just doesn't work that way. When any player goes into an extended slump like Walker is right now, he's not .348 bet to get on base TODAY.

Can the rhetoric. As long as Walker is in this blue funk of his, he's not the best player. 05/31 - 06/17 AB R H 2B 3B HR TB RBI BB SO BA OBP SLG OPS Walker 56 5 10 1 0 0 11 3 5 3 0.179 0.246 0.196 0.442 You betting that today is the day that Walker will snap out of it ?? I'll take some of that action. Seriously Fred? You'd rather Womack or Neifi play because Walker is having a poor 2 week stretch? For today's game, yes. Long term, no way in hell.

Per 720, Rusch 15 day DL
Fred Hornkohl replied to Larry Horse's topic in MLB Draft, International Signings, Amateur Baseball
Is there a rule against placing a player on the DL who isn't hurt? Don't know how anyone could prove they are not hurt, but just wondering. I do believe there is a rule against putting a player on the DL who isn't hurt, and there's no way to disprove a back injury. You Teamsters sure know that rule! The teamsters contract, to this very day, contains a clause that requires a driver to be at work 15 minutes prior to his listed starting time. This was put into effect to allow for feeding the horses. Real boy scouts them teamsters, no? -

Misery loves company...... is about the only reason I can think of why the CUBS are on a pace to draw 3,214,728 fans this season !!

No it isn't. We had a good team in '84 !! Yes we did but isn't it just like the Cubs to be a day late and a dollar short? A day..... a dollar..... 98 years ........ Go CUBS !!

Even the Cubs went 5-4 in the first nine games after Derrek Lee went down. We were actually 4-5 in the first nine games after Lee went down. 4-5 is correct.
