    I remember thinking "we have the tallest group in the nfl, but they all suck" If Angelo was just unlucky, he would have managed a blind squirrel pick by now. He must have a system that legitimately succeeds in finding bad receivers.

    I guess I'll wait to see if the team takes a step forward this year before making a call on his extension. I was expecting the step back - we all were. Now I'm expecting to be right back in the mix.

    I'm sure you are correct, but I think the emotional reaction is completely understandable. They knew and really cared about him.

    Yeah, let's spit on a guy who wrote a biography. Real classy. Well, he's digging up dirt on a long-dead player for a paycheck. Yes it's a bio but that's hardly the reason anyone cares about this.

    I'm assuming nobody paid attention to Colts/Bucs because no Peyton Manning But.. Actually a close game, worth watching if you are hanging out on a late Monday evening wanting something to check out. Tie game, 17-17 heading into the later portion of the game. Sure, not a barn burner, no incredible offensive theatrics to be had. But a decent watch.

    Unfortunately this seems to be a more & more popular character trait in general these days.

    Let's just try to focus on the first half of the Dallas game, and chalk up the 2nd half to Romo & crew's deadly curse of blowing games. Dallas handled the Lions quite well until all that started happening. They can be taken care of. We need to do the Dallas first half, and not the 2nd half. I know it's not much, but hey -- it might be all we've got. I have no idea how anyone stops CJ anymore, and I suspect that no one really does.

    It doesn't surprise me that Walter was somewhat tortured as an individual. He was a different kind of guy, that's what made him so special. He didn't necessarily fit in with everyone's notion of who a "sports hero" should be. I haven't read this book, so my comments are premature and probably inaccurate. It does seem strange that someone is drudging up all this stuff now. Why? Walter is a historical figure at this point. Shall we do a book on all these other sports heroes who passed away, too? And all the things that made them less than perfect? I guess I just don't really get it, other than to say the writer is looking for a payday. I'm sure he'll net a lot of sales on this book. It leaves me with a bit of a sour taste in my mouth.

    I'm pretty sure I would have taken the headphones off, immediately. Not because I would have been aware of how it looked, but just because if I'm listening to the game and I hear discussion around the play that occurred close to me, I would want to know what is going on in my immediate vicinity. I can't really blame him for something like that though. It's just unfortunate how it came across to some people. But I do think for some people that is part of the weirdness. He kept his posture, kept the phones on, didn't seem to react. And all of Cubdom was pretty much collapsing down around him.

    He was human. Jordan was human. He was also in a lot of pain, no doubt. I feel terrible for what happened to him. I would probably have self-medicated if my liver was turning on me, too. Not saying this information is untrue, but I find it distasteful when an author digs up the negative stuff in order to gain a book contract for himself.

    :?: detroit and dallas play every year on thanksgiving, but they play other teams. *gazes at the screen blankly* I, uh, pretty much completely borked that one.

    I think they were just looking for some kind of reason why he might have sat still for awhile afterwards, while it seemed like everyone else was reacting immediately.

    Nah, watched it all the way through. At first, I thought it was just going to be a re-hash of what they did with the "don't blame bartman" piece from a few years ago. Later, I realized they had some interesting new material to present. I think ultimately it was a nicely done 30 for 30 piece. Some of these have been interesting to me, and others I've just let pass by. Obviously I'm biased, but I enjoyed this one. I really feel bad for Bartman, even more than I did before. I can put myself in his shoes, easily.

    The guy who came from 15 rows away just to hurl insults and wish death upon him was sickening. He's sitting there, years after the fact, with that dumb smile on his face. Don't you realize what an evil [expletive] prick you are, you dumb ass?!?

    It would be a great thing for the Cubs to win it, and the next year have a huge Bartman return game, kind of like Buckner.

    Yeah, Billy Buck's still a Cub to me.

    The Alou piece was good. I like how he's still hoping we win it, because that might stop people asking him about the play.

    Hahahah, what the hell is this crap?

    But that's the thing. We took the lead in that game. There's no reason, or excuse, for not winning game 7. We should have held that lead and won the game.

    He can do nothing. He's tried to do the only thing he can: the silent treatment. To this day he could probably net a nice paycheck for an in-depth interview.
