  1. Woodruff is dealing tonight. I guess if we’re going to vomit out a 5 run inning to lose at least it’s nice to watch the Cards mowed down in their own building.
  2. Soul

    NFL Week 2

That took guts. 54 yards, never a doubt.
  3. Whoops, Brewers just won. Throw all your hate on me if the Cubs also lose Edit: actually blame Kimbrel No I blame you. And Kimbrel.
  4. At least he throws over to first on target
  5. Emergency meeting today, apparently. Fat lady warming up the pipes.
  6. So what’s the plan? There’s no way they can play 55 games within the days left on the schedule (can’t even start until Thursday at the earliest). Even if they start playing minor leaguers now it’s just too late to do it.
  7. We all know what college football games are like, nobody can tell me you can make that environment safe. Whether it’s drunken fans crawling over each other to get in/out of their seats, to jumping around and screaming when something good happens, to the parties before & after the game (the reality is these will happen regardless of rules). It’ll be fertile territory for the virus. Plus, selfishly, I don’t get the donation portion of my season tix back - just the face value. I’d rather have all the scheduled games to get the most value per dollar. Moving it to Spring offers a potentially safer environment and better financials for both fans and the schools. Seems like an obvious move to me.
  8. It was clear to me from the coverage that Pip was criminally underpaid. I didn’t see any disagreement on the show, other than people saying the thought he was making a mistake signing his original contract for 7 years.
  9. This is a dumb interpretation of what was said. He was a top 10 pick and they release him because they felt the need to go into free agency to get an older guy to fill his spot. The pick is an absolute failure. If your first round pick isn't playing for you 5 years later, it's a huge failure that only an injury can excuse. This isn't the least bit controversial. It was a bad pick. It was just a joke.
  10. That's how I feel about it.
  11. LOL. Tim: you guys are too binary on picks success or failure. Goony: not a hall of famer, F.
  12. I mean, a big part of why I was OK with the Mack deal was because someone else scouted a great player for him. I had little confidence he would actually hit on those 1st rounders.
  13. You can still get plenty of oline help in the 6th and 7th Help me out on that one. What’s the likelihood of finding plenty of help this far in? I’m trying to see it with Pace. I really am. But his picks consistently leave me befuddled.
  14. Yea, he'd be a steal in the 5th. I'd put odds on Pace trying to move into the 4th. Next years 4th and one of the 6ths, something like that. Though trading activity seems down across the board this year too. If Pace moved up to take Fromm that would significantly improve my outlook.
  15. I’m looking at the past 3 drafts and I see last year was a total failure. Going back to 2017 I see 15 picks; Smith, Miller, and Jackson who I can honestly say are decent. Beyond that though? Who? 3 of 15 and we are supposed to give him the benefit of the doubt. And this feels like very familiar territory to me. They’ve made a couple picks and people are trying to see it, trying to find a way to believe these are finally the impact players they’ve been waiting for. You've graded a draft a total failure one year removed from said draft? Okay. Come on. Montgomery, Ridley, Shelley, Whyte, and Denmark. How does that get better with time? I guess if you really feel Montgomery still has something to offer above random replacement RB.
  16. Plus why would anyone give Pace’s draft picks the benefit of the doubt. Because one draft pick failure does not necessarily mean all other draft picks will be failures. GM's miss out on picks all of the time. There are plenty of draft picks starting for the Bears, so I don't know why we can't give the benefit of the doubt when they weren't "reaches". I guess I'm just not at the doom and gloom stage of my fandom. The defense is among the best in the league. A more capable QB with some added weapons on offense could make their 2020 look more like 2018 than 2019. 17. I do not believe that is close to being consensus. Plus why would anyone give Pace’s draft picks the benefit of the doubt.
  18. Fromm is still there? I’d take him.
  19. Is he any good? Never even heard of him.
  20. Lather, rinse, repeat... sigh
  21. I certainly understand it, but this is going to be really, really weird. Moreso than any other sport, college basketball feeds off the fans.So much so, I’m not sure I can take it seriously without them. BTW Big 10 tourney will also be fan-less
  22. No, not at all. Complete opposite actually. They let people play. That delay of game non penalty is how that is (not)called all the time. It drives me nuts every time I see it, but so be it. Hitting 0 on the play clock does not make it delay of game. Its delay of game when it hits zero on the play clock and the back judge blows his whistle. If the play gets off before he blows his whistle it is not a penalty A flag fest in the Super Bowl would have been net negative. I liked the way it played out.
  23. Oh no...
  24. I really like the matchup. Lots of possibilities. Good teams that thrive in different ways.
