I can always tell we're in desperation mode when I start seeing lineups posted with players who aren't even on the team. It's like Hitler in the last days of WWII, moving armies that don't exist on the battlefield board.

I enjoy listening to Dusty. Some of you need to let go of the idea that everything said needs to be correct. I rather enjoy listening to Dusty's little theories -- it confirms to me why he failed in Chicago, but also, it's pretty entertaining to listen to his idea of what should happen. Basically, he's extremely old school, using almost no hard statistics to guide his way.....at all.

I can't understand it. Can't deal with it. It was only 1 month of the season! He went back to the minors like a good soldier and worked hard! Can't countenance this from Lou. It's CRAP!

This isn't entirely true. Lou has given Cedeno a second chance and he's allowing Eyre and Jones the opportunity to play; one could argue that he was forced to do so by the contracts of the last two but that didn't stop him from burying JJ (and Cesar) for long stretches a few months ago. On the subject of Pie, this team can't afford to allow him to hit .200. There are 52 games left in this season and Lou isn't a AAA manager. Overall, Lou has done a fine job this season and while I like Murton, I'm not going to lobby for him over any other player. I don't care who plays just as long as they are productive. It's not like Murton was hitting the cover off the ball at any point this season for the Cubs (and his defense was a problem--and it had very little to do with playing RF for the first time because he failed to make routine plays on balls that should have been in the glove). Hell, we're talking about the same manager who thought Theriot wasn't a ML SS earlier in the year. Yet, he allowed Theriot to play enough to win the job fulltime. When? The only players under Lou who have been given 2nd chances are proven veterans like Jones and Eyre. Also, its not loke FLoyd is hitting the cover off the ball, or Pagan but yet we continue to see these guys in RF over a guy like Murton. So if Lou's consistent Pagan will grab some bench or worse. Because he's definitely failed.

Can't really even believe Dopirak. I remember in '04 watching him pound HRs out at Fitch Park like they were golf balls. I was sure he would make an impact at the bigs for us. Shows what I know.

I hope Bonds breaks the record as soon as possible. I'm ready to move on from this. It's exhausting.

Keep Pagan out of the lineup. We could go Theriot SS DeRosa 2B Lee 1B ARam 3B Cliff/Murt LF Jones RF Pie CF Kendall C Pitcher That's not all that bad considering we just lost our 136 million dollar man. I'd much rather take this opportunity to get Pie back in CF defensively than sit around with a junky player like Pagan. Why mess around with horrible defense in both CF and LF when we can minimize that (and probably not lose much offense in the process)??
