  1. I know. I feel dirty now, gonna go hop in the shower. I'm shameless. No problem hating Bonds one second, and rooting for him the next in my own self-interest 8-)
  2. Really, I thought it looked good. I thought it was low. The DBacks have been yappin' all night, this ump isn't having any of it.
  3. LMAO. The more the DBacks whine about it, the more the ump keeps calling it. Brilliant.
  4. What happens if Marshall stays in? Does his arm fall off after 80 pitches? Geez, I know you need to protect young pitchers, but that's freakin' ridiculous. It had nothing to do with the pitch count. Piniella was trying to break the game open there and it backfired on him. Once again, Piniella overmanaging. I don't think so.
  5. Yeah he's horrible. I don't know who he is. Daron Sutton... whoever that is. I enjoy listening to the Arizona broadcasts just for Grace though. He may not be the best color guy, but he keeps me entertained. LOL, I didn't recognize him. He did Brewer games before. He was never this.......loud. He never had a team to announce for that was any good. I liked when Vasgergian did Brewer games. It's been all downhill ever since.
  7. 1 down for Marmol. Come on kid, keep this one in the W column for us, we need it badly.
  8. Yeah he's horrible. I don't know who he is.
  9. That was terrible. And now we're in the BP. Ouch.
  10. Yay Pie walk!! Beautifully done Felix!
  11. nah noah is gonna walk him. Isn't there another thread for the constant Brewers game updates? Most of us are at this thread. I appreciate the updates when im here. An occassional update is fine. Constant play by play is annoying. Anyone with a computer (and I assume you have one if you are on this thread) can follow the game themselves if they are that interested. It's more annoying to switch from thread to thread. I appreciate the updates as well.
  12. He'd have a better look at the strike zone from there.
  13. They bring in Cruz, looking for K's.
  14. Lookin' to just move the runner over here, minimum.
  15. I hate when a writer uses some fictitious entity like "Uni Watch" to attempt to lend more credibility to something. It just sounds silly. Just do a search and replace on Uni Watch with Paul Lukas and you remove the smokescreen.
  16. Yeah, funny how MLB took over a month to hear Derrek's appeal forcing Derrek to drop it and Prince's appeal is heard in one week. http://www.motleycrow.com/ImageHost/OhNoes1D.jpg It's a conspiracy against the Cubs!!! Hahaha. Great pic.
  17. Which reminds me of the Corey Patterson "we want you to be a slap/bunt/speed guy, wait how about hitting for power, no forget that back to speed." This org. is great at jerking people around. The problem with that is that we didn't really see Murton go for the "more aggressive" approach until this year after Dusty and co. were gone. Why would he be applying the ideas of the old coaches under the new ones when he was seemingly ignoring the old coaches when they were here? I didn't say Dusty, I said this organization. The Patterson incident was with Dusty, but Murton's is probably with new hitting coach, trying to impress new manager, asked to do something unfamiliar at a older age than most prospects, and mot of all pressuring himself to please everyone. I feel if he just went out and played his game--patience, gap-to-gap hitter-- whether it be 1 PA a week or 25, this whole situation would resolve itself rather quickly. I don't know what's going on anymore. I feel dizzy.
  18. I'm trying to say, why put yourself through that? But go ahead, call in. The point of calling is to get, well, a point across. But their job is to make sure you don't, because that will take them off point. So it's a rather contradictory exercise IMO.
  19. I'll tell you what they know: don't let a caller have an extended period to make arguments, and they won't be able to get a word in edge-wise. That's what all radio hosts do, and it's the reason why I never call in to radio shows.
  20. His production would have been golden for us. Oh well. Also, isn't this one of the few years Dunn doesn't appear to be dropping off in the 2nd half?
  21. But PM does have the Cubs in their "rightful place" and have been a good predictor. Again, this is not an exact science. Each of the three teams are within measurment error (+/- 4 wins). EDIT: Cards are +5, but that is close enough. Just throwing it out there, but don't you think +/- 4 wins is a pretty big margin of error? That's an 8 game swing, the difference between a pretty good club and an also-ran, or the difference between a mediocre club and a poor one.
  22. It reminds me of late in '04 when we were struggling with the lowly Expos like they were the 1927 Yankees. It does remind me of '04, but my expectations for this season were considerably lower than in '04, so if it ends up the same way I won't feel nearly as bad. It'll still hurt though. I want playoff baseball this year.
