  1. Paniagua Lake Maples I probably don't have to explain much with Paniagua and Maples, but I'm higher on Lake than most. He didn't do as well as he did in 2011, but was young for the league, but despite not hitting the cover off the ball all season (balanced by a very hot month), his stats weren't imo, condemning of him as a prospect. And he's continued to do well in the DWR as well.
  2. I went with Arodys for the same reasons that were listed above.
  3. Cubs DFA LaHair, designate Gutierrez for assignment, and protect Watkins, McNutt, Villanueva, and Whitenack
  4. http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2012/10/25/otani-drafted-in-japan/
  5. Enjoy Holland. Lots of great local brews available there. I'd forget about the load and just haul the beer home.
  6. Wonder if we could trade them Soriano, Brett Wallach, and Field #3 in mesa for it.
  7. It appears he's telling the former AZ Cubs in Boise good luck, but he's still in AZ.
  8. Really? you're that dense you think Webb left a half eaten hot dog????!?!?!!
  9. I thought there were limits on how much you had played and/or times active on gameday pertaining to practice squad eligible. Am I just way off there? That old CBA?
  10. Considering he was tweeting about taking the flight. Seeing sights in NYC for the first time. All at the same time as other bears. Then an hr or 2 later. He's tweets that he'll miss chicago fans.
  11. Telling him after taking the team flight was. If you missed the second part. That's your loss.
  12. After taking the team flight to NYC. When you're cut, you've got nothing. No cash, no credit, no recent decent job history. You're stuck in whatever city they decide to dump you in. "Where am I?" "New York City." You do whatever work comes your way. You rely on anyone who's still talking to you.
  13. I know the history of this joke, and I'm not enamored by him or his physique, but, he really does look like a football player trying to play baseball.
  14. Other random observations from tonight's game: Jensen sat 89-92, Berg: 89-91, Antigua mid 80s, with low to mid 70s curve, and Levitt was an "easy" 88-91- meaning he looked more momentum based, not pitching torque. Geiger fielded both 3rd and 1st fairly well, he was unable to dig out a very poor throw from Baez on a double play and missed a very low pickoff throw attempt. Easterling was eventually pulled from the game, and the whole scene shifted. Hoilman moved to left. That will probably not happen again, or, shouldn't. His arm doesn't play there, and he's not the most fleet of foot, or quick to react. Defensively, the chiefs made a lot of errors, quite a few on very errant pickoff throws, and Easterling in the OF is an adventure. Speed is a HUGE part of their game. Other random thought. In the first 2 games, Villone (PC) seemed to upstage Kopitzke, and argue more calls, argue more vehemently, and even made the Rosario pitching change, while sprinting out of the dugout, before turning back to Kopitzke to motion him out of the dugout. Isn't he a "new establishment" guy? Maybe auditioning for a bigger role/manager job, if not trying to take this one? I have to work tomorrow, so I won't be uploading the pictures and video tonight. But they'll go up tomorrow, and I'll post them in here.
  15. Baez with a bad jump off 2nd, still stole 3rd
  16. His glasses put a few holes in the plastic cover, and I'm pretty sure he made a crater....
  17. Easterling a violet collision with the wall and his head/neck. Staying in the game.
  18. Easterlings bat may play at higher levels, but he's made 3 errors/bad plays in CF in 2 nights
  19. 3 nights, 3 separate horribly blown calls by the same ump, 3 long discussions from Kopitzke...
  20. Baez a great grab at short, very late bad high hop, almost in the grass, and reacted and got the putout with ease
  21. Geiger first pitch HR in the 2nd. To left, wind blowing in from center about 6mph.
  22. Watching him tonight, he's doing well, but it looks like pitchers are rearing back and throwing just a little harder, trying just a little more, and I wonder if he's just hitting more mistakes? In his K, the pitcher had been sitting 92-93, but had 95-96 for Baez, then bounced one in the dirt a few feet in front of home, and had him waaay in front
  23. He doesn't look challenged here. And he's always pushing the envelope and limits, hopefully he doesn't build up bad habits- things he can get away wih now, but not against advanced competition.
