Oh please. I'm a Cub fan since 1984. I will root for this team forever, and root for them to win every game from here on out. But there's no part of you that will say "horsefeathers you guys" if they blow this? You will just be "disappointed" and not the slightest bit angry? '84? Pshah. Fair weather fan. Come back when you've been a fan since '69. I rooted for them for at least a few years before that. But I must admit, I remember rooting for the White Sox in '83 so I felt that disqualified me from calling myself a true fan until '84. I was young and stupid.

I'm just saying. Chicago is a great city. Great sports town. Grew up there. But I've lived on both the East and West coast since there. Chicago is just not necessarily a city where people all over the world want to go to live. If I'm a betting man, I'd bet Dodgers or Yankees. Wait are you this dude? Nope. But I will say that I've lived in the Bay Area and NYC and much prefer living in either to Chicago. I'm loyal to the sports teams though. -

Can the cubs get a HBP seeing eye single run at some point? I think they need to hit a few more home runs or else the pen might walk 5 runs in to blow the game.

A player with happs eye and Baez hand eye coordination would probably be good. But the dude seems to swing through more strikes than anyone who's not a pitcher.

I will definitely be the slightest bit angry if they don't make the playoffs this year. But I can't imagine saying or thinking something along the lines of they don't deserve it, when speaking about this group of players that actually just won the world series 11 months ago. You're a better man than me because I'll be pissed off.

There is absolutely 0% of me that sides with "screw them, they suck and don't deserve it." Yeah, that's an absolutely terrible position to take. There's nothing anyone on this team has done (besides Russell probably) to make me even remotely feel any animosity toward them. They're a good bunch of guys that are just not playing very good baseball right now. Oh please. I'm a Cub fan since 1984. They are horrific at WR. This is worrisome for Trubisky when he finally gets his shot. -
If they manage to choke this away and miss the playoffs, then they just don't deserve it. But what's so maddening is that if they manage to get in, I think they could be dangerous and possibly win it. So I'm torn between "screw them, they suck and don't deserve it." and "come on, just squeak in somehow"

As consistently good as the Patriots are, they may be the most consistently overrated team in the NFL.

Honestly, what do you have to lose? This isn't a Lovie situation where the players loved him. This isn't even a Trestman situation where the playbook goes out the door with him. I don't think there are any players worthwhile that are closely tied to him and would miss him. Loggains and Fangio stay. Make Fangio the head coach. Make Donatell DC. Loggains keeps calling the offense, and let him make the QB decision for Week 1. yeah, I think Fangio is the next HC of this team anyway. No worries. Michigan wins it all this year and Harbaugh leaves to coach the team that drafted him. Fangio is his DC. Win win.

please just admit right now that you had no idea who jordan howard was when you made that post and yes the one dude who said that 20 year thing represents everyone in this thread As the dumb dude who mentioned 20 years I'll just say that anyone who read my post and interpreted it that way is about as dumb as the guy who is ready to crown his as the savior of the franchise based on 3 preseason games.

mainly because some people don't know that deshaun watson will never throw accurately enough to be all that good. He was good enough to beat Ohio State (handily) and Alabama last year in the playoffs, but I guess we'll see You mean a consensus #1 like Jared Goff? Time will tell for sure. But no question that Rams would take Mitch for Goff right now and not even think twice. And I disagree. Most people thought Trubisky was a better pick that Watson, even given Watson's resume.
