This was obviously mishandled from an organizational standpoint. Dusty probably mishandled it. He was trying to back his player, but ended up dumping gas on the fire. He should've said there's been no decision about who's starting. Strasburg is feeling ill, but we'll see. If he just said that, it would've been a non story. The reason it makes Strasburg look really bad is because regardless of how he felt, the perception is that he didn't want the ball. Because even if you're sick as a dog Tuesday, why would you ever say you can't go on Wednesday. And mention how you were wheezing after a run.
