    can't a trainer usually identify a broken bone in the hand right away? Didn't the Cubs keep saying that Olt was day-to-day until they finally discovered he had a broken bone in his hand? That's because they were waiting to call Bryant up. Yeah, IIRC, Olt got hurt on a Sunday and we'd get the extra year on Bryant the following Friday. We had an off day either Mon or Thu so they dealt with an injured Olt for three games. IIRC he actually had an at-bat after injuring his hand

    Baseball Prospectus still has the Cubs at 4.6% winning the division while 8.9% missing the playoffs. I just don't really care about this game. If the Giants were to lose, it just puts the Cubs a half game closer to the playoffs and there's nothing bad about that at all.

    I mean the Giants losing *does* help us Umm, no. The Giants wild card hopes are all but dead. And have you not noticed all the donging going on? To be worried about that team, with that pitching staff, when they are 5.5 games back is silly. Looks impossible now but they go out and sweep us at home this week and they're right back in it.

    They put up equal value in WAR and Soto played a more valuable position on the #1 team in baseball. He was the proper choice. Not saying he didn't deserve it but it doesn't equal success so it doesn't matter if Duffy wins over Bryant. You don't say. Well so many people here care about Rookie of the Year when it's a dumb award. Another problem with it is you get so many guys that make their debuts months into the season and lose their eligibility. It's not like basketball or football where rookies all start the season on the same date.
